In a world of magic filled with mystical creatures and plagued by powerful monsters dubbed golems, a young teen finds a book of powerful magic that will change his life and maybe his world forever. Follow the orphan Terry as he grows in his new life as a powerful mage... or more.

I'd say it all depends on the writer, to be honest. You see I'm a male and most of all the links I see are male fronted but in the end, it all depends on the writers skill their technique, and the story on the whole. Honestly, I don't think a male lead vs a female lead is going to make too much of a difference to the readers... or at least for the real readers who are in it for a story. I remember reading a twist on Alice in wonderland I don't remember the author but the main character was Alice and she became a badass warrior right? I remember enjoying that story just as much as Eragon or Harry Potter her gender didn't make a difference to me as a reader.
