    (Thoughts when writing:

Caught up to my thoughts and then suddenly, things kicked into place. Just found a solution to a problem I never foresaw when I planned something to happen. When writing, there are moments where events and characters you've built and made whole suddenly present an answer to a question you find hard to answer. Guess that's how a few writers get their way out of a roadblock, by just writing more.)

      (Thoughts when writing:

Over did it again. I wrote too much and now I have to cut the paragraphs a few times and refine the words to make it clearer. There's just a lot of parts in a scene that could happen, and I end up exploring more than I should have since it goes way too long. Problem is, there's no time to edit the chapters down because of school and, you know, just life in general.)

        (Thoughts when writing:

Writing seems faster now, so much so that I finished a chapter in around fifteen minutes. Making a summary of an arc seems better than just placing 'action sequences' per chapter made it so that I can write while knowing what happens next. I tend to go off the path when writing, so that's a good fix. I could probably finish the arc in two weeks, maybe three at the most. Will update about the style in a month so I can get more data on it.)

Seems like I'm back to writing daily chapters again. Can't say it's easy but what can you do when you have no time. Good thing I get morr inspiration when waiting for my pasta to cook, 10 mins to write half a chapter actually works now, haha. Now I only need to eat twice a day so I can finish a chapter.)

                      (Thoughts when writing:

I didn’t really have much time to write, since I went out to eat with my siblings. I did have clearer scenes in my head than I would normally do. I think it’s because I was thinking of how much my novel had changed from my first chapter and the latest one that I wrote.

I felt that I got less observant, neglecting some of the more minute details that would have made the story better. Not necessarily better objectively, but it would definitely be easier to imagine more vividly. Color, smell, sounds, even temperature and pain are some of the things we clearly think about but never put much attention to.

A character running out of breath doesn’t just feel tired, they feel that it is hard to breathe, their surroundings are hot, and their throat feels dry. A room can smell nicely sweet or smell like sweat, it could have some trapped heat or be properly ventilated. Descriptions like these make more vivid imaginations run smoother, and I think that readers appreciate a well written one.

I, however, don’t condone to adding useless junk like undeserved and clunky adjectives that greatly frustrate readers due to their lackadaisical addition. It is certainly not needed to effectively prove your point and is merely just unnecessary padding.)

(Self-Evaluation: Not my best day, 5/10)

                      • This is for authors, both Original and Fan Fiction. You can join in if you want, or just lurk like what most people do. Nothing bad about either of the choices, but I hope you choose the former.

Why don't we start posting how many chapters we've written and your mind set while doing it, at the end of the day you wrote it/them?

Then, at the end of the month, we could compile the amount to get a solid number. From this, we could check up on how many of those chapters actually make it to publication, so we could see how much work we made that eventually ended up getting wasted. Of course, you'd see how much work was made that actually mattered.

Efficiency, people. Who doesn't want to know how efficient they are?

Think of it as an exercise that tracks your progress, and maybe we could get something out of it. Look back on what we felt when writing those chapters and possibly try to recreate those moments when we get inspired and avoid repeating the times when we procrastinate.

                        Format is this:
(Novel Name:) - self explanatory, what is the novel you are currently working on?
                        (Date:
) - self explanatory, when did you write this?
(Amount of Chapter/s written that day:) - this is basically the amount of chapters that were written, with a chapter containing the following: title and content (doesn't have to be complete)
                        (Words written that day:
) - amount of words you've written, just add the word count.
(Amount of Chapter/s ready for publication that day:) - this is how many chapters you've decided to insert into that publication line. Could be chapters that were edited today but written yesterday, or even a few days ago. This one, however, must be fully written and also edited, based on your standards, of course.
                        (Thoughts when writing:
) - what were the feelings, ideas and even the troubles you experienced when writing. Were there some things that made you stop writing? Or what about the opposite, were there some things that made you want to write? Put them here.
(Self-Evaluation:___) - this is somewhat related to the previous one, but this one is more definite. Was it a good day for writing or not?

                      • Slewis You could say it depends.

A 20% is bad if you have 100 collections, but it is pretty good if you have 4,000 collections. I'd say it doesn't matter that much if your novel isn't that popular yet, and you'd be better off sticking with views, power stones and collections.

                        • GegeSadewa

The guy was explaining how to enable readers to farm points in novels that have been chosen for that function. It's not about making the novel you're writing farmable. I don't really know how they decide which novels become farmable, but they might just be random.

                          • It got taken down! But the author has another novel that is very likely another IP theft. Why is he still allowed to sell anything?

Amazon hasn't given me another email, which they should. In the end, the only winner is Amazon. I'm sure the novel got quite the sum, it was in the top 38,000 paid and top 400 in the selected tags last time I checked.

                          • Avalondra Just release daily and plan ahead. Most readers are satisfied with a consistent release alone.

Look at how poor in quality some popular novels are, but since they release daily, or even two chapters a day, people eat their novels right up. I'd say that you shouldn't push yourself by doing daily when you can't do it. But truth of the matter is, there is a need for you to do that to get noticed.
