Figured. Do you know if the translators and/or author know? I can't imagine that Amazon would knowingly list a pirated book.

Can someone confirm this?
I was browsing books available on Kindle Unlimited and came across a book called Level Up: God Gene, being offered in numerous chapters (currently volume 19, being offered at $3 per volume) by the author Burning Angel. The first several pages of volume 1 appear to be an almost word-for-word copy of the book Super Gene; once I confirmed they were the same, I stopped reading.
I informed Amazon by way of posting a review of the book, which was read by someone at Amazon (because they looked at and rejected the review). It stated;from <my name> on June 17, 2019
Translated Chinese Novel - POSSIBLE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT
This novel was originally written in Chinese by an author known as "Twelve-Winged Dark Seraphim" (pen name); it has been translated into English previously by authorized translators (Nyoi-Bo Studio) and THIS APPEARS TO BE AN EXACT COPY OF THAT TRANSLATION! If so, there may be copyright infringement issues with this work.
... Amazon should look into this. (*see the web novel work titled super gene)However, assuming that this is an original translation, or the same translators working under a new name, and this is a translation authorized by the author, I cannot recommend this series more highly. It is EPIC in length and will likely require several dozen books (2000-3000 chapters?) to finish.
terminatermike1 So, would it be more accurate to say that spirit stones are for "renting" chapters rather than "buying" them? ... seeing as how the payment of SS confers no permanent right to access the content.
Wondering if it would be possible to implement something like this for purchase, as an event, etc. Would allow a reader to read stories for a one-time-fee, limited time period. Amazon/Kindle has successfully implemented this as an option (in addition to their traditional pay-for-each-book option).
Every time I try to reply, a "FAIL" window pops up.
Doesn't matter if I'm trying to reply to a comment in my inbox, or in the story's comment section.Heck... I'm not even allowed to reply. Currently, when I try, it says "Fail" for unknown reasons (not overly long replies & logged in properly)
- In 50% DISCOUNT
If that is the way that it is being implemented, hopefully it will end using the same time-measurements. ... cheap chapters for a FULL week. (Though I'll probably blow through my SS within a couple days.)
+1 to the student who started this post.
I'm pretty conservative with regards to using my credit card online, and where I use it. While I'm happy to see a website make money off me using ad revenue, I will not pay for stories online. Certainly this site is competing against other similar translation sites that do not charge.
If you don't like the SS model, vote with your feet.
I'll also add that I'm leaning more towards abandoning this site. I have note that, contrary to translator's promises, some stories are not releasing a free chapter daily. To me, this indicates the end of this site as a free-story provider (a meager allowance of 12 SS/day isn't going to attract me to this site for long).Yes, well, it seemed ahem fishy that it coincided with the sale of spirit stones. Glad to see that the stones will soon be returned.
Slow claps for the two that figured it out.
I can tolerate it. Have for a long time. I actually don't have a problem with the "first" comment... were it only ONE. However when it becomes 20 or 30, it has gone too far. On this site in particular, it has blown up out-of-control. At very least, since this site as a system in place rewarding comments, DON'T reward these non-comments, or get rid of that feature.
I'm sure that the comment section was not created so that people would race to be the "first!" to comment. While I don't want to ruin anyone's fun, it is really annoying that if I want to read what others think about a story, I don't want to read through 50+ three word comments ("thank you" or TY is barely tolerable) from people trying to earn "points" so that they can skip ads, or be a higher tier member (so they can earn more points to skip ads).
Comments, one presumes, should be ACTUAL COMMENTS from people who have something to say about the story.
QUIDAN... PLEASE... STOP... REWARDING... THESE... PEOPLE!!!
I poop on Level 4. You "firsters" are wasting my reading time with your dumb comments. I wish I could give you all a good "firsting" with my giant first, until you couldn't walk straight.
I am going to recommend that Quidan pick up and/or continue Quanzhi Fashi. Since I don't speak or read Chinese, I'm limited to reading only English translations. The story has been partially translated and is available, in part, on Gravity Tales. It is also discussed on the Wuxiaworld forum. However, no translation work has been done recently on this novel.
The story is compelling, and in line with some of the more successful titles carried by this site. Additionally, the first two arcs of the story have also been converted into Manga format and have been translated into English. This should make written translations of the continuing written work very popular, especially since it is unlikely that the 3rd arc of the manga will be relased (in English or otherwise) soon.
Anyone who is following the story will want to read ahead.
Wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your translation of NEET RaDSS... EXCELLENT WORK! I'm enjoying the story as well, most of the time, and find your translations to be easy to read. Best of luck on your writing project, best wishes to your family, and have fun traveling in Japan!
