Geraldrold Alright dude, I understand if you are mad, and trust me, 1/4 of the posts on this thread are my complaints, but it's not a conspiracy. It's just a shitty system they designed without putting a lot of thought into.

Essentially, the system they have only logs whether you watch ads or pay ss, it doesn't count what you read. The system back then was that only the latest chapter would have the ad/ss. In other words, if you don't read it on the day it's released, it becomes "free" meaning you never will watch an ad or use ss to unlock the chapter. Because of this, when the novels turned premium, only the chapters that specifically were unlocked with ads/ss were left unlocked, the rest all got locked. An honestly stupid system, but ultimately, not a conspiracy.

Logs? Well, since the chapters are linked together, Google only tracks links that you click. And I just found out, it only tracks it on a computer, I just read a chapter last night on my phone and it didn't show up on the activity log.

Receipt for SS? Like I said, purchase history 6 months.

Math for spent SS? People actually remember how much SS they spend when the chapters sometimes have random amounts? Literally just last night House of Horrors charge me 10 SS for one chapter, then 7 for another.

Reason I am mad is you keep accusing people of making conspiracy theories. I am just pointing out a possible bug since an issue occurred for me with the app. I'm not even asking for free SS, I just want this issue fixed. But you go all:

Secondly, I would like to know what proof you want. You keep asking for proof but how do I get said proof? Magic it out of internet dumpster where deleted things go? Also, go back and look at edits I wrote on my previous post. I already took note of the date issue, which I made sure to acknowledge. And quick note, I actually edited it before I saw this post.

The only proof right now in my hands is that I am a consistent reader. I literally unlocked most the premium chapters except when I run out of SS. Which happens often these days. I could ask for an xls file or whatever like Pizz is doing, but Webnovel ignored the last two emails I sent to service, so, meh.

Edit: I saw the purchase date is wrong and I was linking Dec 30 2018 purchase to Dec 2017 activity, and I can't show proof that I already purchased the novel chapter, since they are in 2017, and that is last, last year, way more than 6 months and also way before it became premium. Unlike some people, I can acknowledge my mistakes.

Dude, at this point, you will literally just contradict anything I say. I read those chapters A YEAR ago. Why would I be paying for something I already unlocked over a year ago? What do you mean by skipping payments. I am showing that the chapters RELOCKED themselves. Who reads a novel skipping chapters. That is not how reading works. Maybe if you were re-reading it, but nobody skips chapters while reading the first time. And I can't show that because, again, 6-months.

What I can show, however, is that I am a consistent reader.

The day it turned premium, I have been paying SS to read. Consistently. No skips.

Then explain to me how one random chapter out of the three I accessed earlier is unlocked and not even unlocked on that date, since I unlocked it over a year ago, like the other two? Wow, more proof you just see what you want to see. And before you claim that I unlocked that one later, it's literally smack right in the middle of the two. I could show you my entire SS history to prove that I didn't unlock it AFTER the novel became premium, I just can't show I unlocked it BEFORE because the SS history is, 6-MONTHS only.

So you want me to magically bring out purchase history that Qidian DELETED THEMSELVES. Good going. I suppose if you ever get arrested, and you say you have proof that you are innocent but the evidence was burnt up in a fire they started, you will be okay with them proclaiming you guilty anyways.

Also, I would love to show Google history but because of the way Webnovel links chapters on the website, it only acknowledges if you switch chapters through the chapter list.

Well, I guess that might show the problem. Two chapters that I directly linked to in December, long before this locked chapter issue started. Unless I am crazy and just love jumping to chapters without reading them, and love skipping multiple chapters at a time, the issue is real.

Oh and here is proof that I only started the mobile app day before yesterday, when this started happening.

Look, I don't really mind if you support Qidian, but calling people liars is ridiculous. I mean, you literally didn't even think of the fact that SS purchase history goes back 6 months before you started insulting other people. Note, I never said they are going out of their way to cheat me. What I am saying is that their system is buggy and that they would have to be liars if they try to brush this to the side. I don't mind premium novels, since donating to support authors and translators is common sense if you like the novel. Hell, my SS history is almost daily. The SS system itself is not the problem, the problem is that you can pay for a chapter, only for it to lock. Why would anyone in their right mind pay for the same thing twice?

CKtalon You say it happens to everyone, but from what I read and personally experienced, most people who encounter this issue either recently reinstalled the app, like I did day before yesterday, or started the app for the first time after reading on the website before. I mean, seriously, it was unlocked, and it locks after I reinstall the app. Look at the comments above, at least 3 users are mentioning about how they reinstalled the app and this caused the chapters to lock. Get to the bottom of this issue with the app. I'm not going to continue this, since you said your piece. But do expect more people to post about it if the issue about the app isn't addressed.

CKtalon I do see what you are saying. And it makes logical sense. But it doesn't make any emotional sense honestly. People who read from way long ago are basically the ones that supported the site. I mean, Qidian International was infamously unpopular. Just look at the debacle with WuxiaWorld vs Qidian. Then there was the claim that Qidian is stealing from GravityTales. And people who supported Webnovel despite that get their faith betrayed because, well, there is a dumb system that can't tell whether people already read something or not? I mean, even without watching the video specifically, the fact that there was traffic on the website made it more popular on searches, which leads to more visitors.

And I can honestly say that this is a recent event for Gourmet Food Supplier. The chapters only locked yesterday, long after it became premium. And I was reading it fine last month, long after it became premium. And was only affected after I synced with the app yesterday. This was the same for Library of Heaven's Path, they locked only after I synced it on the library with the app. If you can explain that in a satisfying manner, then I will leave you at peace. From what I can tell, this has only happened to people who use the app. The app that you keep recommending us to use. So those who never touch the app literally continue reading chapters as usual, since this doesn't seem to affect them.

Firstly, you know, the main reason why the unlocked chapters from the ad system era carried over was to allow the legacy readers, aka the ones who read and supported the website from the very beginning, like me, to enjoy some benefits, for popularizing the website. Unless I am mistaken somehow.

Secondly, the chapters only locked AFTER I started using the Webnovel app and synced. I know this is the cause of the problems because I was reading both novels just fine on the website until I synced with the APP. SSM and Gourmet Food Supplier had most or all chapters just last month LONG AFTER THEY BECAME PREMIUM except the latest daily ones unlocked. UNTIL I SYNCED with the APP. Please read the words SYNCED and APP.

Thirdly, you still haven't addressed the fact that I somehow managed to read the chapters WITH ADS AND SS, and still have them lock themselves. You can say provide proof but honestly, the novel had ads over a year ago and I read them over a year ago. How do I prove something that you deleted yourself, since you only hold on to 6 months worth of history? I feel like the fact that the chapters are randomly locked and unlocked should be proof that there is a problem here. I mean, I can't exactly read a chapter with ads, then read the next chapter with no ads, then read the next chapter with ads again?

I do appreciate that you are taking your time to explain these things, but your explanations are not reasonable. You say you can't fix the problem, so direct us to someone who can?

CKtalon Look, what I am saying is chapters that I used SS for are being locked too. And I can't exactly prove it since as you say, the Ss records up to 6 months whereas I unlocked those chapters via 4 ss last year. And you already told me that the chapters paid for remain unlocked. Free chapters are getting locked and unfree chapters are also getting locked.

A bunch of "free" chapters were unlocked via ads because how else would I be reading them. Well, other than throwing 4 SS, which I of course did when binging, but that is beside the point.

The fact is:

Chapters are getting locked AFTER getting unlocked. You keep telling me I didn't pay for them, which I did, or that I didn't watch ads, which I did. When I spend SS, I spend for 10s of chapters, instead of 3-4 at a time, so I either paid for them and they still locked or I watched ads for them and they either stay locked or unlocked randomly.

You know, I am not asking for much here. I am not asking for free SS or special treatment. I just want my chapters, which I already unlocked, to be unlocked. I don't care if you make every novel premium in the future or if I have to pay for future chapters. I just want my PAST chapters to be returned to me. Like seriously, I was going to pay to continue reading Haunted House of Horrors, but why would I if the chapters might just get relocked after I paid to unlock them. It's a no brainer.

Free chapters can get locked after premium if you never read it, I get that. But that happens when the novel turns premium, not 2-3 months after it turned premium. And that is fine. I never unlocked them so they are locked. But now unlocked chapters are becoming locked. That is the problem here.

In fact this nonsense happens everytime i reinstall the bloody Webnovel app. There is definitely something wrong with the way the app syncs.

I don't actually think the SS system itself is bad. I never complained about Gourmet of Another World after all, which was the first premium novel I read and have been sporadically paying SS for. But a system which randomly breaks is ridiculous.

Around two months or so ago, Gourmet Food Supplier became premium. A month ago, I was still reading the early chapters just fine. Yesterday, the chapters just randomly locked.

So please, don't lie about the issue. Why should I spend money on locked chapters only for them to relock in the future? They were all unlocked, then half of them just lock themselves. Funny how you claim it was the "free" chapters that remain unlocked. If you look at my purchase history, the only one's I ever unlocked for Gourmet Food Supplier are the ones at over 500+ chapters, since that's when it started going premium. Meaning, if your claim that a bunch of "free" chapters were locked we would be seeing them like an uninterrupted bunch of locked chapters, not some locked and some unlocked. Also, that means I shouldn't have been able to read them a month ago just fine. Since, you know, this happened LONG AFTER it went premium.

Edit: Haha, just went to read Spirit Blade Mountain and curiously scrolled through the content list. Chapter 51 to 84 locked while everything else to chapter 551, the latest chapter I unlocked yesterday, are all unlocked. And my friend was reading it on my account just fine a few days ago too.

They won't, it just happened again to me. Gourmet Food Supplier just randomly locked half it's chapters while leaving the other half unlocked. In a random splatter of locked and unlocked too.

I really want to purchase SS to read ahead on some novels, but considering how I might unlock a bunch of chapters only for them to freaking lock again... and considering when I reported this, twice now, my emails just got ignored... Well, they are not getting any purchase money from me.
