I remember reading a novel on here years ago which I'm pretty sure was named "The Devil's Path". Can't seem to find it though
Here's the synopsis, MC is reincarnated into what seems to be ancient china, his new body is frail and was planning to become a scholar, largely because he has failed to cultivate any martial techniques at all. MC happens to have brought a cheat widget he'd programmed for a game into this reality, it allows him to just tap a plus button next to a skill name and instantly upgrade his mastery to the next level. He finds there's two drawbacks added to it though. First, each time he uses it he consumes physical stamina and nutrition, so the first time he pumps himself up he's much stronger but thin as a starving man. It also doesn't let him upgrade past a certain point without a potent source of yin energy to consume, he later finds a girl's hairpin that belonged to a ghost which let's him take a single skill past grandmaster level.
MC ends up grabbing a bunch of martial techniques and bringing them to very high mastery, first one being "Black Tiger Saber" which is obviously a saber technique, another being "Jade Crane Technique" which increases his spiritual energy pool.
He soon finds there are ghosts around the land hidden from normal people and martial artists, even the weakest one is so tough that an expert martial artist is unable to injure it, so special cultivators are needed to take them down, but MC's high mastery in many techniques allows him to fight on equal footing with these ghosts. He also finds that he has zero aptitude for the special cultivation of these ghost hunters, one of them becomes interested in him and hands him a bunch of martial techniques to see how far he can take this.
At one point he's fighting several ghosts on a ship out on a lake, the ship catches fire and ends up burning all his hair off, he's otherwise uninjured but the strange effects of all the martial techniques prevent him from growing back any hair, so he ends up permanently bald.
I hope that's enough info of the novel to ring some bells for people, can anyone link the novel to me?
