I'm also french and i know a lot of people who are translating some qidian's novels from chinese or english into french and who asked qidian to become french translators. Only one got an answer, and it's because Qidian thought he wanted to be a english translator ...

Most of people don't know discord...
Because of this, we can only speak with them when replying to them : 1) It's not private 2) The things we write aren't about the topic on where we're replying....

Japanese ? A lot of potential ...?
I don't know where you live, but in france, it is the complete opposite ...
There is just TOO much french wanting to learn japanese ! Most of them want to learn japanese because they're in love with Jp's culture, especially anime, mangas and the like... France is not the world's second market for mangas in vain..
Hence, french universities have to reject candidatures because of this !
For example, my university can hold 300 people in japanese. But there is more than 300 applications every year ! Some people had to join my chinese class because they were rejected.
Because of this, there is too much people searching jobs related to japanese ! A LOT of formers translators have to find another job because they can't find work since there is too much translators !
In France, learning japanese is the same than learning history : it's difficult to find a job after a degree (even after a master) ... So, there is not a lot of job opportunity when learning japanese as a french ( compared to chinese).
