as a reader myself i would say that the plot will most likely not get better for you, because when authors introduce a harem character, she stays till the end. And also if there something you dont like in a story it just going to annoy you endlessly, you be more annoyed with the things you read and not as in depth with the story as you were before. Do you get what i mean?
