Which one is the master of the Wei family? Which one is married to Wei Ran? And how are they related to Wei Zilin? Are they brothers or cousins?

PapaReaper Very true. It’s pricey and almost all the novels are incomplete on several thousands of chapters, which is super expensive when tallied up. I calculated 1 of my novels to cost US$400 if I paid for every chapter! Qidian is cheap and affordable in China because they have the market numbers to support it and because of cheap labour. To translate a chapter is costly for them as you need to pay translator and also probably an editor and not at China labour rates.

I think it’s because they have a huge market, like China’s population is the largest in world like 1 billion plus, so the SS would be a lot cheaper. So it’s very affordable for their population and so the people don’t mind paying for it. Most of their profits are from probably from the latest chapters which would be exclusive to their site until it gets pirated, then physically published books for devoted fans. I think these IP businesses in Asia almost factor in loss to piracy. Secondly, the cost of labour in China is much cheaper than what they would be paying for hiring translators from the western world.

I think Webnovel has always been geared to be a fully pay to read service, fully capitalist company from the get go. All the free SS etc from the beginning was just a marketing ploy to break into the market and suck people in to build their client reader base. DeJeL I looked in the Consumption logs but prior to May 2018 or so it lists all the chapter names as “undefined” or title of book but not the chapter number. If i tap the consumption entry it only takes me to the summary/synopsis page but not the chapter I unlocked.
