What makes it unique/different: The novel is heavily focused on character development and deep world(s) building. This novel's setting is quite unique since it deals with a modernized but hidden magical society (like Harry Potter but not locked into 18th century England, and way darker) as well as other magical-based societies from other planets (and even universes!).
The MC is just a normal person who's forced into that world of mythical creatures and powerful magic. He’s unable to use regular magic so he has to rely on his wits along with an arsenal of gadgets of his own creation. But his peculiar power is what he relies on the most to stay alive.
His power, time traveling, isn’t even that strong since he can only go back a maximum of 24h into the past. Other than that, he’s just a regular guy with a gun.
I also explore the effects of time traveling on a normal person’s psyche. Because seeing your friends die again and again is going to leave mental scars, not to mention the trauma caused by reliving the same seconds for hours to avoid a single sword strike.
This novel also regularly switches to the point of view of different characters, so we can get a bigger picture of the world and its actors.
