SIU, my goal in life is to write a novel as intricate as tower of god
Lonelytree so translators are allowed to request certain things like what i mentioned earlier? have privilege but no locked chapters or premium?

Dwarkin ... lemme try to make it clear again. would webnovel allow fan translators to use webnovel as a mere platform? not lock chapters at all (ah well, maybe privilege but only that just like webtoon) and let the fan translator open up a patreon for donations with goals whatsoever? i seriously only know two sites apart from webnovel that has something like privilege (but no wn's premium).
nah otakus are either anime, game, novel/manga readers. i don't think chinese people have issues calling themselves otaku since they don't mind borrowing japanese phrases and words. but the chinese equivalent for otaku should still be pronounced as otaku but using pinyin.

HeavenlyGardenia you do know that for manhwa and manga there will never be an issue on translation and edit of the dialogues and the most thing that takes time is cleaning and stuffing the dialogues in the speech bubbles. once a week is not really slow for manga or manhwa either. i had to wait once a month for other manhwa and manhuas
Silvia_Liam the only change for me is i ran out of books to read because i've gotten pickier during the pandemic

Dwarkin the thing is, people who would want to pick those novel up are highly likely mostly (possibly newbie) fan translators. they won't take translating as a job but rather as a hobby. i ask you, how many novels in this platform have you seen with less than seven chapters a week, translated by a fan? (first point, applying itself is intimidating QAQ) what motivates these fan translators are the readers that enjoy the novel the same way they do (mostly on comments) but if the novels get locked, who would be willing to read using this platform?
as for the other category of translators that translates as a side job with little extra pay, i honestly think they would rather set up their own site and make a patreon account. it's not like they can make premium chapters as privilege or set up goals like $100 for +1 extra chapters a week.

HeavenlyGardenia nani tf unofficial for fun translators literally has to divide the chapters to two or three and still update every other day. on what speed basis are you complaining that at least a chapter a day is freaking slow? and there are barely novels that updates once a day because most would do 14 chaps! they would only increase their release if a certain earning milestone or popularity is achieved.
So like, idk how many times i stalked qidian. their titles does not make sense translated but in general they are the books on top when you specifically choose in female lead category online games, esports, future world, etc. like... requesting livestreamer female lead pleaaaaaase (i even saw one crossdressing) and interstellar novels. the synopsis of some is decent although only few has ratings. at the least, i saw two with 9+ ratings so ;-;
at least seven chapters a week is slow for you?

MissCringeyAuthor like having none but you're earning money. except during mgs if you really want that $200 per month for four months. you can choose not to update daily for those four months but bye $800 for ya
