I see a lot of novels with only 40 to 60 chapters translated and some of them are pretty good which disappoints me because I look at the dates in which they were updated and it ranges from months to years which I think indicates that it isn't going to be picked up for translation. It disappoints me more when I see there are plenty of trash novels out there with bad reviews that make it to the top and are 'popular'. Why is that?

So I read this novel called, "I Cultivate Passively" and I really like the novel so far after 40 chapters. However, it's on trial read. I don't know too much about how trial reads work but how long does it take for a novel to get picked and if it does, how long does it take for chapters to release again?
Also, it irritates me how novels with trash ratings and story get a crap ton of energy stones/votes instead of the actual good ones. Why?
For me, I would try to live a more normal life since I would have some doubt if I had plot armor or not. Let me give some examples, I would of course join a sect, not do some outrageous things like MCs do, such as offending a young master right off the bat, avoid girls (femme fatale and "fairies"), not pick that one dangerous/difficult incomplete cultivation technique in the corner of the library (that's probably dusty), I would just pick a normal cultivation technique depending on my situation (spirit root/martial spirit/whatever the plot is), do normal sect missions, etc.
I could go on forever.
Of course there are so many variables that would change the way I go about living in a cultivation world, such as a system, some specific talent (Devouring skill, unlimited duration, etc.)
I could keep going but I want to keep it brief and not go on a rampage/rant of what I would do.
