  • YulongYuXianTaiyin One of the reasons why I started reading mpreg genre books is the frustrating way female mc are written and portrayed. They either are too strong that it don’t make sense to become weak towards their male counterpart or too weak that they become this cringey clinging female and become more of a secondary character. There are some romance about a clever female mc but then it turns bad when they become too dependent on their counter part.

The only c-novel with the female mc is A thousand Traussuers carriage or whatever it was. I forgot the title.

    • Woebegone I hate it that is why I am bringing attention to it. I can even reasoned it as bad writing on the author or the author has no idea of romance

      • What is “Holy”?

What if the definition of holy was limited by our knowledge and therefore skewed the meaning of holy, the true meaning of holy.

What I cannot seem to understand is the split of holy saint sects and demon sects who are in the same color scheme. They kill the same, fall into bouts of greed, vanity, pride, and endless meaningless vengeance.

The holy saints kill using excuses. The demon sects kill with twisted honest answers and reasons.

The world of these kinds are in an upside down world where it has no meaning to exist nor a legitimate God of justice. This world is made up of a delusional human.

Enjoying it from the past was a foolish thing. I was delusional.

        • For the thousandths times I sighed at the sight of a white valiant “hero” appearing within the third or was it the twenty fifth chapter? I don’t remember and nor do I care because this kind of guy is everywhere. He appears in EVERY BOOK WITHOUT ANY PURPOSE BUT TO MAKE THE ROMANCE EASIER FOR THE MAIN CHARACTERS.

          WHY?!

Let me get a second to breath.

The guy in white has a handsome countenance, he has what it takes to get his own woman that is not full of overdramatic extreme decision making choices.

It is tragic that this guy in white dies early. It is tragic that he loses everything for a female that wont even remember nor care about his sacrifices.

P.S: Why are European men so popular in Chinese novels? Is this a sign of Stockholm syndrome?

          • My phone died....so I couldn’t say all I wanted to say so thank you all wonderful beautiful people who brought out the same issues I was trying to convey.

Yes I know people prefer those and yes I don’t. The issue is it is targeted towards female. I am disappointed because of this.

In addition, they put it under romance. Why? What is the definition of romance again?

I know it’s fiction but words are powerful, and a world existing with characters that have that pain playing inside of your mind living and breathing made up of words. It can be personal. It can become real.

            • As a reader I am happy to have endless options but what I need is better options for me. I don’t know about y’all but I am a female and I like interesting books. When I got tired of the same rhetoric of “weak-to-strong” cultivation brotherhood, I went to Gamer to cruising down the lanes of futuristic and action to magic/Magi to harem.... yes, you heard me. I read harem stallion novels as well. There will always be a gem within the rubbles of stones.

What I don’t understand is when it comes to romance, it is targeted at us females and the “romance” on here is a bad soap opera that anyone will just kill themselves if they are a part of it.

I must list out why I think so:

              1. The Male Lead is “cold” “perfect” “Dead inside” but somehow his “DEAD INSIDE” disease miraculously healed under the presence of the Female Lead.

              2. Female lead is a “beauty” “sexy” “clever” and “OP” but seems to have low self esteem and loves to torture herself with the same D___. Ya’ll know what I meant.

              3. Hissy Hussies. Idk why every female characters either secondary primary or thirdy. All of them have these urges to gouge each other’s eyes out due to the “oblivious” Male Lead’s charms. 🙄🙄🙄. I’m beyond just fed up at these stereotypical dumb bimbos ya’ll go crazy over. (Someone say something about this....convince me otherwise)

              4. The female lead gets raped a lot. 🤦🏽‍♀️💆🏾‍♀️ I don’t know who you trying to trick. You can try to trick yourself but when your in that position I think you need to seek help if you still think your man is still perfect and deserves your “undying love”. There is no way around it. Don’t romanticize an atrocious behavior. It is no wonder it has been a prevalent issue since the beginning of mankind.

              5. Letting me down with the serious oath “I don’t need to depend on him” There were some books about the betrayals of the Male lead and the victim has always gone back to that male lead and I don’t think there’s anyone out there that can do that. A book is a reflection of the world you wanna built. Do you wanna live in a made up world full of free rapists living with their victims and taking liberties of them? That’s some heavy taste you got there.

              6. Making excuses for him. IDK why author loves the Male lead so much that every BIG NO NOs is swept under the rug painted with glamorous descriptions of his handsomeness and OP-ness.

              7. Using drugs and alcohol to dilute the FACT RIGHT SMACK IN YOUR NOSE AND POKING YOUR EYES OUT: THE FEMALE LEAD WAS RAPED! YOU THINK IT IS STILL OKAY AND EXCUSABLE FOR HIM TO RAPE UNDER THE INFLUENCE?! THESE TWO ELEMENTS ARE WEAPONS USED FOR REAL RAPISTS. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT. IS IT REALLY OKAY AND EXCUSABLE. (WHY?)

There are more but my phone is about to die....

I’m sad that these so called romance novels are giving out wrong messages. I know I know these novels can be great but it can be harmful.

Let me know what you think.

              • Now don’t get me wrong.

I am as obsessed with Japanese Light Novels as the next person that can utter out several Japanese Light Novel Titles off the top of their head. However, there are more than a few things I’ve noticed since reading a varied of JP Light Novels.
It has honestly frustrated me. I wondered sometimes if the translator translated in that way or it was that way in its original form. So, I have been trying to learn Japanese to read them in their original form when I become fluent. But at this moment here are some of the things that made me drop too many of these JP Light Novels.

                1. I was recently swept up with REINCARNATION based novels and what I have seen so far is the repeated use of a “kinda-but-not-really weak” OP MC. Every one of them are not executed well. I cringe at the way every mc seems to stack up powerful skills but never had any use for them for the rest of the story until maybe later at the end of the book but by then I’ll be gone. Some can be glimpsed when convenient and it is usually when they try to save or show off to the people or their womens (really womens! That's how much women gravitates to mc like flies to poop) 👈🏼 This is another thing that gets me too.

                2. Reiterated phrases such as “of course” or “ne ne ne ne” or “tommo”

                3. Having a mc that never had a woman’s attention suddenly become popular with the majority of the women population.

                4. Everything seems bland. Too many repeated words and description and thoughts. The action is not satisfactory.

                5. The same character makeup as every other novels. They either play hero and take advantage of it or play hero and become a pity party for himself.

                6. The same heroine. Too headstrong or too dumb and kind and FORGIVING FOR NO REASON!!!

                7. Half assed or too simple world. I can’t explain enough. It disappoints me.

                8. Using the same old joke.

                9. There must be a moment of revealing yourself without thought or without thinking of consequences and somehow everyone is happy and cool with your BIG REVEAL.

                10. Secondary characters are too passive or too dumb or seen as unnecessary.

                11. Switching of point of view that reiterates what happened in previous chapters.

                12. The “forceful” Mother or female with the phrase “if it’s you you can do it”

                13. Asking after getting the answer. I don’t understand it. Maybe it is the structure of their language. I have to see when I get to that part of sentence structures. Right now I am still trying to memorize hiraganas.

                And many more.....

Do you also have an opinion on why Japanese Light Novels are trash?

Let me know. You can go ahead and embarrass or amaze me with information of why I may be wrong or may be right.
