  • So before saying this I would like to ask the question of how everyone feels about the changes now that we know they probably are not scrambling to revert the changes and that authors are now switching sites? As from my view this is the final straw in the decline of a once good site, starting with pay walls and ads and locks now to effectively shutting down the website and pulling the metaphorical trigger killing their non mobile user base, With this being said I and many other users are probably thinking its time to make the switch to other sites to follow our favorite authors. So here are a few sites for authors and users alike wanting to switch
Scribble hub (the one I'm switching to): pretty solid, has lots of user features and no pay walls from what I have seen from the few books I have read on it. It may not be as user friendly in the terms of searching initially but once you get the tag you want its great.
Fanfiction.net: its okay, does not have the best search function but has categories and communities but you also have to get through all the not so good and down right appalling fanfics to get to the good ones.
Wattpad: fairly good with good searchability, but is currently dominated by irl inserts and decent stories but like the others most stories had good writing quality.
Royal road: I have not used it much but from what I have seen searching through it is a little tedious but it has been around for a while and has not made any effort to get money from it's users along with having good stories so far

    • Erred Ahh yes I found it after I made an account. I had read an occasional novel there before but did not really look through the options as it was not my full time site

      • Ather47 Its utter bs. I have been reading on pc for at least 2 years hundreds of stories hundreds of hours just to get off for a few hours to find I can't read past a certain chapter anymore without the app. After all they have done with pay walls and ads this was the final straw. All I can say is I hope scribble hub adds dark mode soon so I can enjoy my new reading site more.
