Dresden Money, profiteering, asshole, bug, errors, policy change. Who knows? Until there's official statement we can't know for sure.

The lack of communication is a real problem though. If it was just a bug, communicating it to us would help us understand. If it was a policy change it would give us the chance to confirm it or get the reasoning for it

As stands, all the lack of communication does is make us assume the worst, which would be that it's a quiet policy change because they don't want to deal with the backlash themselves. Which is frankly stupid from a public relations perspective.

I hope is a bug if not i will drop a lot of books :( cuz i am not going to pay like a lot of other people. NEED ANSWERS QDIAN.

I was just about to comment on this. I know for a fact that true martial world, gourmet of another world and last wish system no longer give free chaps. I’m really getting tired of this. Pretty soon I might drop the site as a whole. Not like I can’t go to a library and read real books which are 10x better and free. Or read manga. Plus I’m disgusted by this site’s tactics from taking novels from other sites to blocking chaps even after already being released. (CEO spoil me had all but 100 or so chps paywalled despite already releasing hundreds more from daily free unlocks) It’s bad enough they won’t release the rest but to take away even the chps before that? I know that they’re a business and profit comes first but the lack of regard for their reputation makes it very hard to support them and I’m reaching my limit. I’m not asking for complete freebies but don’t make me feel like they’d rip my flesh out and eat it if they could. pretty soon I’d have to pay for anything after chpt 100. The reason I got into webnovels is bc they’re cheap but pretty soon that’s going to change at this rate and these stories are not worth it. They’re second rate stories written by a single guy and maybe one editor in a rushed job. Incomparable to teams who spend months to even yrs refining a single real book. They never even have decent endings. Don’t try to push cheeseburgers as 5-star cuisine when everybody knows better. While I respect the opportunities they provide fledgling authors the quality isn’t worth the price tag and I’m not falling for it. If it was just that I’d still want to support the authors but the tactics employed by the company make me lose all motivation and good feelings.

From a part-time buyer i don't mind spending some occasional cash to buy SS for the novels i like. I have absolutely no problem supporting authors and site like this. Stories are good and varied and premium always get a little more than the non-premium. But also non-premium did get something with the free unlock.

If non-premium = no chapters beyond a certain point i can't see many people buying massive SS. Instead casual spenders like me would be leaving in a mass exodus style. I don't mind paying for some, but i will not pay for all.

The crux of the matter for me is that unlocking a whole novel is so much more expensive than buying a hard back, which as mentioned above where author and editor have spent a long time on a polished product .... If the unlocking a whole story was equivalent to buying novel then that would be palatable for me,

The comparison for me is that If i spend 100GBP i could get somewhere between 5-7 (complete) Hard back books or 9-10 complete softbacks. If i spend 100GBP on SS i might get 650-700 paid chapters. is that even 1/4 or even 1/3 on a novel. I see novels some novels at 2000+ chapters.

Dresden dont but i think it should be because the spirit stones you need to buy

KamLouBak couldn't have said it any better myself what I mean is that I agree with you

              Marshala

I agree completely. I have been buying SS now and then but no longer, the $ for the quality of work is not worth it, i'll just drop the novels
