  • No daily free chapters in premium novels

I must say, I don't understand this model....I used to watch the ads for all the stories I was following, but I'm not participating in this 'stone' business at all. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Surely the transition from ads to 'stones' is costing them money, not making it?

OH. so they did stop the one a day free chapters huh? sorry to hear that. guess ill have to find a different site to read on. shame too as i just started a new novel i really enjoyed.

Have anyone got or heard any response??? Why is this happening and what is the possible solution for it?

Why you still asking? I already predict this 5 month ago. Nothing new about webnovel squeeze your money harder. Just let webnovel die and another translator group will pick the project again

Face_Smacking_Dao Webnovel won't die. Their parents company had just go 'public'. They had huge money on their pocket to survive at loss. Shareholder would accept 'to conquer' the market share reason.

Their biggest competition in novel space is only Wattpad.

MasterRabbink Don't forget Amazon Kindle as it most certainly will become a competition. The only reason they weren't a competition was because reading web novels was free. I believe it will be the biggest competition actually. Their way of business has become remarkably similar in principle. Kindle also can make the first volume of some series free so you get hooked and pay for the later parts. It is pretty similar in principle, just the delivery is different. This system is just more game like and made in a way to trick the customer into spending without realizing...

N0xiety Webnovel will be killed in an instant against that Behemoth, if Amazon went into 'Daily'/Serial Novel. Amazon Prime is Amazon key to Victory. It is unbeatable in US. Lol. Based on their business Web novel is just a slice away. Luckily Webnovel focused on 'Wuxia' story.

I will never bet on WN if the opponent is Amazon. WN will have to join as another tail in the big Bahemoth. However, some Authors didn't like Amazon's profit sharing while WN could monetize better.

Nevertheless, if considering Amazon as competitor, what you said is correct... WN needs to be careful. Most likely WN would reduce price if Amazon entered the market.

Lord_HaarT Greed? Everyone has that. That is their living. If my sole income of mine is from writing, I want more money if possible from each words I make. Luckily, I am not.
