So today I was scrolling through the romance fiction genre of the website, when I stumbled upon a book called the "The Kissing Booth" which, if you guys may not know, is a Netflix original film that is literally the title.

I would've just let it go since the author added a twist of her own, but judging by the synopsis and the character's names and personality, this is literally plagiarism. So like any other good reader/writer here, I investigated her profile and well... judging from her bio, I don't really want to clash words with the author.

So guys, will you please help me? I have thought of reporting her, however, I decided to have the readers (you guys) decide what is best.

Kalopsia Very good observation! I am too worried to clash with the author too. I can imagine her spamming my book with 1-star ratings or something. Anyone know how to handle a situation like this?

The Plagiarist has made great novels, they might do the same :stuck_out_tongue:

BabyTanuki I'm glad you can understand my worries. But I'm not too sure if I should report it to the higher-ups. Should I? Since that would be the most logical thing to do. But like i've said, i'm reluctant to clash words with the author.

BabyTanuki I have just posted on the review section about her work, hopefully, it goes well though I'm not hoping too much...

Kalopsia I sent webnovel an email. They had a forum post a while back about plagiarism. I did my part in being responsible, so it is their hands now I guess... If she ever becomes more popular than my book I swear I will become a crusader though! haha.

BabyTanuki Lol don't worry about that. Just know that even while her book will become popular, she'll receive a lot of backlash because of her copying and pasting :)
