If an Original author gets a contract with WebNovel then their novel goes premium and some chapters get locked behind SS. It's good and bad. Readers that want free binge reading don't like it for obvious reasons. On the flip side, the author makes money of their novel and can (hopefully) make enough to work on it full-time.

Hopefully will complete it and don't become a Mad Snails. I like Mech Touch, only wished the story would have better pace since each novel chapter now cost SS.
There are several factor before a contracted original novel could become a premium. All contracted would become a premium, you shouldn't be surprised. Based on a contracted author's hint:
- Number of words. (Most likely around 100+ chapter, even in Qidian the first 100 chapters are free [sample].)
- Number of readers.
Perhaps Mech Touch had achieved those.
I have had a doubt these last days. Why the novel "Paradise of demonic gods" is not yet premium as the other novels translations and has more than 200+ chapters.
It will be that Xanjin is fighting with those of webnovel to keep the old model of adwall and SS.

Rating ?/5 doesn't matter, because that can be affected easily by negatives unrelated to the story.
The number of chapters is not indicative of the length of the novel. Some stories have 1k chapters others have 3k. Really what matters is the quality of the story and to a degree the quantity, which is not determined by chapters but words.

Icegoast Never heard about that. I don't know. Most likely it won't since an author didn't get a fixed amount money for the chapters.
What I am curious about is how many chapters are premium? He was doing a chapter a day is it going to be that a free chapter releases ever few days or free chapters wont happen till a 100 premium etc. Is 132 is going to cost stones in a month etc?
