The results of WPC #18 & #19

This week’s writing prompts will have two main topics.

Writing Prompts Contest #20:Alternate History
Writing Prompts Contest #21:Sailor Moon

Writing Prompts Contest #20:Alternate History

Alternate history fiction refers to a story where a modern day person time travels back to a certain point in the past. Everyone has read stories from history before. In the real world, history is written down on textbooks that people can learn from. However, it's impossible to change what's happened in history. But in alternate fiction stories, the main character can receive an identity that gives them the opportunity to change history.

1) The main character must transmigrate to a real time in our history.

There's many popular topics that can be used. Here are some examples that you could choose from:
Italy during the time of the Renaissance

Byzantine Empire's rule
Victorian-era England
France during the French Revolution
Phillipines when it first obtained its independence
America during its Civil War
America during the gold rush period
Spain during the Age of Discovery
And so on, and so on.

Of course, you're free to choose any time and place in history that you wish, as long as the historical background itself isn't fictional.

2) The main character's greatest advantage is that they possess knowledge and common sense from modern times. He or she will be able to obtain various advantages due to this, allowing them to live a successful life in the ancient times and even change the path of history.

Some typical examples of "knowledge and common sense" could be: how to create glass, how to create gunpowder, how to improve alcohol distilling, the invention of paper and printing, the invention of penicillin, discovering untapped resources, how to improve the process of extracting oil, the discovery of scientific laws, and so on.

All of this seems like very easy common sense to us today. But, remember that it would be shocking to anyone from a past generation. The main character would then be able to have such an advantage due to this: obtaining wealth, authority, reputation, and so on. The main character will introduce this modern knowledge to the world before it's supposed to appear, and thus speed up the development of the world.

3) Don't be afraid. Write whatever you want!

We don't have any requirements like being one hundred percent accurate to how history was. To be honest, it's impossible for anyone to have such accurate depictions of history unless you're a history professor or scholar.

Still, all of us have some basic knowledge and ideas about how history should be like. Don't be worried about historical inaccuracies. Use any idea that you want to create the best story you can!

Writing Prompts Contest #21:Sailor Moon

The extremely popular manga Sailor Moon was a pioneer in launching the genre with females saving the world, and it gained phenomenal success.

The punishment of evil to save the world should not only be the privilege of men.

That is things that people who belittle women and harm women should know: Women do not only pay attention to themselves or improve their own tiny worlds, but that they also have the wish and ability to help others, and even save the world!

People believe that women with good looks and bodies are beautiful; but, women who have the ability to hold their fates in their hands and save the world are even more beautiful!

Please begin creating your version of Sailor Moon!

    Thank you.

    Both this topic is hard.

Especially History story which might trigger nationalism or told about religion. Some novels must consider hate speech rule.

Sailor Moon is a bit hard. It would be hard to get out of the legend's shadow.

But... They're not the Writing Prompts announced in the TGIF #34, or I didn't understand something....

Hi, I have always been curious about the writing prompts and I finally decided to check it now. I am very interested in trying out the sailor moon writing prompt EXCEPT I don't know how 😭😥
Won't some kind hearted passerby kindly point me towards the page showing full instructions on how to submit and be part of the contest? 😭😭 onegai..

Vgnette Ahm I went to google play and searched for inkstone and it was a chinese magazine 😖 waaaah.. So, I entered my webnovel app again and I found inkstone system and tales of inkstone tower.. Could you ahm kindly provide me with the link? 😭 please and thank you very much.

MasterRabbink True, but when I saw beautiful females warrior, I didn't think of a Sailor Moon novel at all. So it reduces the possibilities, and forces fanfiction.

DazzlingGem I heard mid this month is what CKTalon said in FB Group.

Navakor Nope. As long as you make your MC is female and a hero/warrior. I think that will qualify.

BronzeCat6265 Nope. However, most readers prefer 1~1.5k for each chapter here. If you give too little readers will complain lack story.

MasterRabbink Ooh, really. I haven't been to FB yet these days so I haven't seen that.

BronzeCat6265 What the grandpa rabbink said. Also, remember that the contest is only for the whole week but you can still continue it after the contest. If you want to win though, better post your novel early and post more chapters. 😁 No entries posted here yet so better if you can post today too.

                MasterRabbink
I agree. I'm staying away from this one due to nationalism and religious issues. As well as potential racism, sexism and homo-phobia, since older societies could be rather loud with their bigotry. Plus I just can't do a Sailor Moon fan-fic.

Good luck though for those who decide to participate.

Does the person transmigrating need to be from the current century? Does this imply someone from the future will do?

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Just a question, but would it be possible to include Mythology from that time period. For example, in the era of the Greeks (800 BC) there were actually living Gods which have perished since and it's our historians and scholars that are wrong. My idea is to be as historically accurate as possible while also including elements of the Myths and legends of that time period. Does this meet the prompt #20? Thank you!

I have written a story for the Prompt Alternate History. It is on the outlaws present during the time of Robin Hood, it may sound fiction setting but some historian have claimed it to be real not fictitious and many of the event in the story are real with the characters like Robin himself. So please Read and Review and give me some stones if you like the story.

                    Tale Of An Outlaw

                    Summary
To People From All Around Earth,
Our main protagonist has transported to the time of outlaws, people who were unaffected by the King's law and broke them.
With modern day knowledge, he'll strike of to be the most strongest outlaw and maybe even the King.
Follow him as he changes the history and literally makes history.

And even if it is disqualified please read it as any other webnovel.

I feel like the History will make a lot of conflict and debate as most of history are about either progress in the civilization of major wars. An example is the more recent independence of the Philippines from Spanish Rule that lasted 333 years. It may also touch upon sensitive topics such as slavery, dicrimination and some not-so-pleasant topics. Since there are also changes that will happen then it is likely that people would not take it too good if the beliefs that they always had was to be changed, challenged or questioned within these novels. There are also readers from other countries that may be subjected to conquer within these fictional settings and that may offend them(Ex: The World Online and The Lord's Empire).

                      For those who are reading...

                      Tale Of An Outlaw

                      Chapter 2 is up.
For those who want to read from beginning, please read Chapter 1

The next message should be read by all so is in bold and larger than the title.

Please Read and Review and give some Power Stones if you like it!

People getting pissed off at works of fictions is something I'll never understand. Just enjoy it for what it is and go your own way?

ShamelessKitty omg me too and when I discovered the manga I fell in love all over again! Then I couldn't watch the show again when my girls got older and gave Sailormoon Crystal a try and cried because it like 90% of it follows the manga and now my girls love it!

A silly question because I have a silly inspiration and also a noob question because I have never submitted my work here before.
Is it possible to enter both category by mixing them in one story ? XD
And about the vote, will the vote be finalize on the 7th or the author have to submit before the 7th and the vote will be finalize later?

                            [unknown]
