No, but seriously, I felt the words stab into my heart. I think most harem readers already know that there will never be able to find a harem in real life. But reading those novels really makes you feel as if you are in there, I like to experience everything.
Since I like to Experience everything, I like harem because you see more conflict and action in those that have a harem. I also like those that stare at the MC with eyes that show wrath, it makes me cringe yet I feel that I want to read more. This is my opinion, I know that there are many types of people in the world, there are probably many guys who despise harem. So this is all fantasy and I like having a low IQ OK?

Like everything in life there is a "but", there are decent harems, like that of Tale Demon and Gods, that clearly the MC will have a harem. This is one of the few exceptions of the harem, because the MC does not take advantage of their moment of weakness of these women, it actually helps these girls to get up and become stronger without pretending to make it more of a sex toy in him life. Except for the love of his life, most of the women he relates are purely from friendship or who will help him in future combat, not out of desire or wanting fresh meat in the harem, which is what happens to the whole harem. So the harem makes sense, so the reader cannot decide who the MC should stay with, so the harem seems like a viable option (of course it's a smart building for us readers to believe in).

Ancient Strengthening Technique had like 28 women at the end of the series (I saw the wiki). Even typical action series that shouldn't even have harem have a harem, an example would be God of Slaughter. The romance leads nowhere for the first 900 chaps.
Though, there are good harems, which somehow include all of the females and their stories and relationship with the MC like My Wife is A Beautiful Ceo. There is also the Divine Throne of Primordial Blood, it has a harem, but takes a realistic setting. When the MC is about to be married to the main FL in Divine Throne of Primordial Blood, the MC tells her that he had an affair with another woman. She goes mad and that screws the marriage. She says she will go find another man like he found another woman. The MC and FL get back at the end (I think, this part is from spoilers) where MC promises to only have the FL.
There are some trash and some good harems. I regret reading ATG and Ancient Strengthening Technique the most. Rape culture isn't something that I admire. My Wife is A Beautiful Ceo, though it has rape, it was only because MC mistook FL because she was in the bar and had aphrodisiac. There are many Harem's that don't have rape and a cold ML, it's about finding the right harem.

Take_the_Moon That exaggeration was a bit much... In My Wife is a Beautiful Ceo, the wife does actually revolt. The females in the MWiaBC are quite independent. The FL never crosses the boundaries with ML either. But you know, ML turns out to be a God bla bla bla. Humans cant take gunshots, ML can is OP as well. The ML does have character growth. In the beginning, he sees women as sex toys and then character growth helps him become a better person.
The series was quite action-packed.
I mean, I liked Martial Arts Master as it had a good FL. It was my favourite in the 'No harem' tag. But we all know what happened with that.
