Res_Publica I believe it is as DazzlingGem said.;,;.
What EXACTLY does "views" mean on a novel?
DeJeL
Agreed. I've heard you get a single 'view' every time someone visits your novel page basically. So if they read 1 chapter or 100 it doesn't matter. It's a view every time they open the novel page. So most of your views will likely come from your daily readers opening it each day to check for a new chapter. This makes it easy to tell how many readers you have early on. Views/chapters = # of people. Later on it's pretty impossible to tell since new readers may read the whole thing in 1 shot before throwing it in their library for chapters to build up again.

SnoozySloth That is the rumor. However it is not the truth. Views is easily manipulated. Even Wattpad didn't show the real views.
Try to make a dummy novel one novel has 1 chapter, the other has 10 chapter. It is number of chapter per click.
MasterRabbink I remember my novel started at 1000 views.
Ierrech Most novel will reach 1k view/chapter. That is the bare minimum.
MasterRabbink
So I should just divide up my 40 chapters into 10,000 chapters of 10 words each! I'll have 10 million views in no time! MWUAHAHHAHAHA!!!

MasterRabbink haha! What i mean is, the instant I clicked "publish", I had 1000 views!
Edit: so the views should be fake!!!!!
Ierrech Are you sure? For both of my novels, they started at 0 views. They climbed every one hour. I think my novel started with around 700 views on the first day.
Siterus as long as you like what you read it doesn't matter.
Alright, now it got more confusing...
...really?
