Darn it! My novel Be My Strength is about contractual lover but I cannot enter the contest because it has to be a new novel it's still new! Like only three weeks old. Sigh.

Yeah that rule seems a bit arbitrary. But when you think of it, it's more logical that way.

For old novels, the authors already has from a few to a few dozen chapters already written. They can slowly release chapters over the days, making the work show up more on "Latest update" section, and quickly gain views and (theoretically) votes. New novels don't have that luxury.

Hence the restriction to new novels only. Authors start writing at the roughly same time (at least, if they all start writing from Friday), and it's more fair.
