Hmmm, I agree with your point that labelling fanfics as orginal is ridiculous.
Personally I don't have anything against fanfics but once I see a bad fanfic of my favorite animes that just totally ruins the image I have for them, and also at the same time twisting the plot into an amalgamation of pure cringiness, weirdness and just plain horrible.

The bad fanfics here are just like a bacteria, they multiply fast and slowly kills the site. I mean like there is a clear distinction between original and fanfic its just the people who don't recognize it or just don't want to.

There are a few fanfics that I like here and they are doing pretty good, they have their own originality and not just a mix of nightmares. They go beyond the original plot and has their own unique story. A good example is Ancestor Please Calm Down, this fanfic has part of the original series but only just for a brief moment, here the author adds new elements like cultivation and go beyond the original world where the Naruto Series happened. Now this is a fanfic and not just a Chimera-of-a-story(lack of better words lol).

I agree that there should be a segregation between these two genres as they're clearly different from each other and just the thought of good originals being buried by countless bad fanfics becuase of the original series' fan base is just nauseating.

From the MCs being a fuckboy to just being plain retarded, I don't even fucking know why people enjoy such bad fanfics, now there are originals like this too, and I have the same opinion ot them, If they're bad then I'll just ignore them.

Neither Masashi Kishimoto nor Viz Media have ever taken action to shut down Naruto fan works, and Shonen Jump publishes Fan-Art of all its regulars, Naruto included. However, even though they have a section on the official website for fanfics and fan art, it is against the rules of the forum to publish a fan work using trademarked characters. They must be serious about avoiding cross-pollination between fan ideas and official material.

Warner Bros. briefly tried to get rid of Harry Potter Slash Fic. Given the absolutely monstrous amount of Harry Potter Slash Fic on the Internet, this naturally went nowhere.

I agree that fanfics should stay in their own domains. Think of these domains as territories. We naturally don't want our own to be conquered and turn into something else.

reviews like yours does not help fanfic writers, instead of encouraging them your comment will make authors drop their story, there are already only a few fanfic writers on this site. some people write for themselves, do you not realize your idiocy

like WTF i can accept a good fanfic, but when a review says that the fanfic isnt good.. this should not be the response... there is already a long running site for fanfics and fanfic writers that write for themselves..
like the review isnt even meant for the author and meant for other readers to take heed. but yeah

    Daoisthentai was browsing some originals in the top 100, got surprised that there are only a few fanfics out there and decided to check em out. it was a TGD fanfic immortals tale in demons and gods...
    i got into an argument with the author there long time ago we argued, said some nasty words then made up... even wrote a review on it and also a follow up review, i was glad to see the author improved in writing but it wasnt my cup of tea still... so i browsed some of the reviews liked some reasonable ones and thats when i found that comment in one of the replies...

      Out of the top 20 originals 6 are fan fics, please seperate and for the many reasons I shall revert back to your entire post.

        Or Maybe Just a fan fiction tag, and an option to exclude the said tag from our searches? That would solve a lot.
