Great Demon King
N0xiety Volare just didn't want to translate the long novels that they felt were shit after picking them up and used Qidian as a scapegoat to 'show solidarity.'
And later came the announcement that GDK will be dropped:

As it shows below, it was long in the planning.

Syphon I don't see how Qi is used as a scapegoat. If something is inevitable, do you expect them to fight a losing war? You can't just force people to join a company after all, it's all good and well for those who did join willingly back then, but not everyone wanted that. So even if they had other problems, the last straw came from Qi in the end anyways. Back then many novels got dropped not just by volare, but by many others whom i was reading translations of. And they all dropped before Qi took legal action or even contacted some of them, because they knew how it would end if they kept going. Why fight for another month or two when you can see the end? Only someone who can't see two steps ahead would do such a thing, and people generally aren't that stupid. If something is %100 inevitable, it's best you give it up early so as not to get hurt worse. It's common sense. But i guess that common sense is lost on you...
N0xiety Qi didn't ask them to take it down. They took it down and used it as publicity that they are supporting the anti-Qi movement. Why didn't they remove the ones that Qidian asked them to take down immediately in May, such as RTW and CCG? Because they were popular and well received. They still have Qi novels (History’s Strongest Senior Brother, The King of Hell’s Genius Pampered Wife, Star Rank Hunter, etc) hosted on their site. What about those? Isn't it hypocritical?
Syphon Honestly, i don't know anything about the current situation with volare. So i can't really discuss it. I'm also too lazy to go search for info. But well, i don't see how they can keep going without authors or Qi's permission. They might have just bought the rights to translate the novel long ago. Who knows... Really too lazy to do research about this topic right now. So lets just end the argument. You can do the research if you are so curious about it and tell me about it...
N0xiety Facts: etvolare wanted to drop the long novels because she felt they were shit and long.
They dropped the long ones but not the popular ones.
They are still translating QI novels.
Speculation: All these facts point towards the fact that it was not an act of solidarity but an excuse to drop the books they didn't like to earn brownie points with the community.

We have never granted any licenses to Volare. All the translations from Qidian and the other China Literature platforms such as Yunqi, Hongxiu, Xiaoxiang, and even Jingjiang are unlicensed translations. 100% infringement no doubt.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Syphon I see, it's strange how they haven't been taken down even after almost a year. I guess you guys aren't going too hard on them? Since it would be pointless if there were no one to keep translating those novels right? Or is it because of the painfully long process of international lawsuits? Or maybe they just aren't worth it at this point? Seems hard to deal with indeed.
+1 but please, don't censor this novel.
