Well I did notice a steady trend of traditional romance features, especially CEO Romances in the past few weeks. I'm a BL, fantasy, action, adventure, historical fiction writer and reader by nature. I'll only read a traditional romance in a review swap. Otherwise, I'll shun it since the last romances I attempted to read (to pique my curiosity about all the hoohaa) glorified domestic violence in some scenes. I'm not a big fan of those types of stories.

I don't really care about female/male oriented novels as long as you can filter stuff you do not like and who cares if a top list is filled with novels I dont like as long as I can continue to read what I do like.
That being said, I do have a sort of explanation for this phenomenon. Since the female oriented books are picked first when I want to get more daily SS on the "what's next", I just click whatever pops up, same as I did when there were only a "what's next" that didn't care about male or female oriented, I dont care about them I just want my stones. And I believe I'm hardly alone in doing so. :partly_sunny:
The female novels are just a prologue to the broken dam of flooding yaoi shit.. So beware and brace yourselfs!

Most novels with female leads are so cliche that I honestly don't fear that they will dominate this site in the future. It's just that they are easier to write and, as mentioned, have a bigger reader-base. The author makes more money etc. but that will eventually stop since no normal human can write these boring stories only.
I am not against female leads, they as just as good as male ones, but I really dislike 90% of the romance novels on this site that have a female lead. They mostly cliche and stupid and even their titles... My Secret CEO WIfe, My CEO Husband Hero... etc.
WTF are they so focussed on CEOs? Managers of large business companies have the most boring lives ever...

What, so it's all right for male main characters to dominate the top 20, but the moment a female main character gets into the top 20, it's an "invasion"? It's a bad and terrible thing? The whole world has gone to hell? It's wrong for female characters to be as popular or more popular than male characters? Suddenly Webnovel is turning into Wattpad? It's "absolute shit"?

Based on what I’ve seen female oriented novels are more money milking since most readers are willing to pay SS for the chapters, which I understand bc compare to the male oriented novels which cost average 9-10 SS, the female ones cost average of 4-5 SS.
There’s no doubt that QI will target new female readers and most of em came from wattpad and who are accustomed to reading romance genre. thus the influx of them novels in the rankings.
And what happens when male oriented novels become premium? Most readers mostly go to aggregator sites ”fvck this I’ll just read this at xxxx, not worth paying!!”
QI will side to those who gave them more profit ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Solution?? Vote PS, Support TL Team and authors by paying SS and not supporting aggregator sites.
