  • You only get one fast pass a day the first time you vote with energy and power stones. 1 fast pass per day for voting with energy stones, one per day for power stones, and one per day for checking in. Even if you vote multiple times, you only get 1 pass per day for each stone type. I think there are some ways to get more passes if you use the app, but I rarely read here and almost never on my phone anymore.

    • Yeah, as far as I know, they've always only lasted for a week. Personally, I use the passes every day without reading the chapters I unlocked. I just remember where I left off and go back once I have several hundred chapters stored.

    • Yurikoshiba If you're talking payout, I'm not sure. If you're talking charge, webnovel values their coins at 2 cents per coin. So, they charge 10 cents for 5 coins if you buy them without any bonuses.

    • chadsuke Going from what you said, you're currently 2.5k words short. If the rules are min 800 words per chapter, with at least a total of 5k words, you would need around 4 chapters at 1.5k to meet the minimum requirement.

      • Veronica8 Ah, I think you misunderstood me, lol. But that's fine too. I was making a joke because I don't know why you NEED to delete an account so badly that you'd go so far as to try and get banned, unless it was for attention.

        • Hrm. I'll just toss out a few of the ones I've really liked that are complete... Lets see... From here...
          True Martial World
Martial Arts Master. Really any of Cuttlefish's stories. I haven't read them all, but the three I've read so far were amusing enough.
          Release That Witch

          From other places...
Beyond? and pretty much any of Andur's stories if you like that one. They are all somewhat similar and can be seen as part of a series even though some of them can also be read as standalone stories.
I am the Monarch... If you can tolerate the shotty editing. But, if you read here, that shouldn't be an issue. It's kind of finished. Might have to read the last 20 chapters on a mtl site.
If for some reason you haven't read Coiling Dragon yet, you should read that. If you like it, any of IET's stories are somewhat comparable, though I liked that one the best so far.
Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed the World
          Shield Hero.

If you like short stories or one shots...
A Game to Make Him Fall/The Probability I Can Kill My Wife Without Being Found Out. And, pretty much anything else on Yoraikun's page that sounds interesting. He has an interesting collection of stories.
Convenient Woman. The site for this also has some more stories that might be interesting.
          Konyaki-haki sarete Me ga Samemashita
          Sansheng, Wangchuan Wu Shang

          • Do you want to write the novel? Or are you just fishing for ideas other people might like? I think you should go with what you feel like. Not my taste, but yeah. I'm sure there are hundreds of twilight fanfics out there that are lgbt from any angle you can think of. And, there will be readers for pretty much anything that's written, seriously. How many and if they will actually donate money though, well that's something only time will tell.

          • Well, if asking to get banned doesn't work, you can read their terms and post something that goes against them in a really bad way. I'm sure there are some links you could post that would almost be an instant ban.

            • itsmeTuba You're making me want to watch Short Circuit... Well, I think it was part 2. Meh.

              • Nothing. Lots and lots of nothing. And a little rereading of "Beyond?" I go back and reread parts of it every couple years just because it's only about 100 chapters and it's really amusing to me. I feel like it has a good mixture of action, humor, and romance. Not sure if it should be considered dark comedy, but it certainly has some aspects... This turned from a "What am I doing" into a story recommendation... Ha. Back to goofing around.

                • CarrotOnTheStick The name alone makes me not want to read it, though the synopsis seems okay. But, I have my doubts about it. At the end of the day though, you need to go with your thoughts on it. You've read 90 chapters and don't like the plot. Unless the author makes a drastic change, I don't think your feelings will change in that aspect. So, you're better off donating your time to finding and reading other stories you might like. As for people saying a story is on par with something else, you can pretty much ignore that. If they said the plot was similar, you can judge that yourself. However, whether something is on par with another story... In what? Popularity? Filler? Word count per chapter? Number of characters? Abilities/Cultivation techniques? Sounds like a nonsense statement to me. Go with your gut instinct when reading a story. Especially on a site like this where a lot of stories are rehashed versions of a another story.

                • I think it depends on the flaw or weakness and how it's used. There are other factors as well though. I think what's important is that you like your story while having a general idea of what you are doing and why. A lot of people who dislike flawed characters, dislike them because of inconsistencies. For example, one of my pet peeves is reading a story where a character dies with regret related to the girl he loved, then he ends up getting reborn or going back in time and goes full harem with almost no concern for the girl he supposedly loves. That's not an MC flaw, that's an author flaw. But there are lots of stories where there will be a flaw that the author selectively uses and ignores when he wants to make a specific action work. Basically, they don't build a character, they just write down an MC name and use a setting that generally draws an audience, then they make the situation work regardless of the actual story.

                • Those stories that you say most can't be bothered to look at are probably popular with the masses I guess. I'm pretty sure they do have a system of sorts for how they choose what to continue releasing, so the ones that stay must have been popular in some manner of speaking. Whether they are judging by popularity with the original release, people who actually pay here, or something else.

                  • Tomoyuki I didn't bother with the part where you said I've been doing nothing but lying because you didn't actually say what it is I'm lying about. Am I supposed to guess? Sorry, not going to guess what part of what I said you think is a lie. I basically just took it as you lashing out because you had nothing else to throw at me.

As for the Amazon thing, I'm sure they did more than just take the novel down. If they didn't, then there probably would have been people suing, even if it would be a hard or impossible case to win. People will sue for anything if they can find the grounds for it.
As for Ebay, they never actually possess the product, so it makes it nearly impossible for them to do any kind of verification. Not to mention, how would they even begin to verify if a bike someone is selling was stolen? And, if your bike was stolen, how would you even begin to figure out which one on Ebay was yours? It's quite possible that none of them would be.
If they did have the product, like a normal pawn shop, then if something was proven to be stolen they would have to give it back and they would lose out on the money they paid the thief for it.
In the case of online stories though, it's quite easy to at least do a simple check when someone wants to add a new story. It's seriously not hard at all. And, yes, I think it's fair to expect Webnovel to do a simple good search. It would probably have have prevented a majority of pirated novels on this site.

The DMCA was for something else. Arifureta is just what I remember it for because it was a novel I was fond of when I first started reading light novels.

I wasn't insinuating they hire people to steal stories. I don't know why you would think that, but that's your issue.

                    • Tomoyuki If Carlton's Hotel gives people weapons and lets them go around murdering people so long as they don't get caught, then yes, then they are an accomplice and could face roughly the same charges as the murderer. Whether they face legal action or not is another story. A murderer is a murderer regardless of whether they are caught. Being caught just dictates their punishment. Being an accomplice is the same. In those same words, pirating is pirating regardless of whether you're legally caught. Being legally caught just means you will face punishment. And if we go by your logic, .co isn't pirating because they haven't been legally brought up on charges yet. Maybe they are just waiting a really long time to react to the DMCA, like Webnovel has done to some authors.

Also, I can post the link to the post about the person who waited 9+ months after his DMCA. He use to do Arifureta a long time ago, but his site has a mixture of things now, a lot of which is adult oriented, and it's a long rant that talk about a lot more than just the 9 month issue.

                      • Tomoyuki Thanks for proving my point. Exactly as I said, claiming the murderer is innocent because they skirted some aspect of the law. Since I can't legally prove he murdered them for whatever reason, lets say for example, the fact that the video of the crime is inadmissible because of some technicality, even though it's proven to be accurate. So, they change the jury and have to redo the trial with people who don't know about it and let the murderer get away. In your eyes, that's perfectly fine. In mine, it is not. You'd support the murderer according to what you've said.

                        • Tomoyuki Have you already forgotten all the excuses you tossed out about how Webnovel isn't legally responsible for anything that happens here? It's the users, not Webnovel. Webnovel is innocent because they've managed to skirt the law in regards to that.

You didn't say the DMCA issue is okay, but you still want to argue that hosting the story for probably more than a year after receiving it is not pirating. Otherwise, we wouldn't still be on the subject of whether or not Webnovel has pirated novels here.

                          • Tomoyuki If a child is a murderer, and the parent defends them, claiming what he did is not wrong or somehow okay because they managed to skirt some aspect of the law, then yes, in my eyes, they lose the right to complain if someone murders them. You can't support a murderer you like and condemn a murderer that you don't like. Well, I guess you can, but yeah.

                            • Tomoyuki To sum up my view, which you call misguided, in a simple manner.

If someone steals from a thief, I have no pity for the thief. I also have no animosity towards the new thief, nor any good feelings towards either.
Well, in general anyway. If you steal back something that was stolen from you, are you a thief? I'm not sure where to fall on that one.

If someone defends a thief, then complains about another thief, I think it's funny.
It's somewhat more complicated than that, but that's the general idea. Going to a thief's house to complain about another thief is close enough to the same for me.
