I don't understand the love everyone has for swords, but it's soooooooo annoying, it's like Evey main character has to use a fucking sword, rarely you will see a spear and once in a blue moon you will see a great sword, but OMG can authors get more creative and lean towards different weapons. I mean katanas are cool and all but it gets old, can I see a mc go around smashing heads and taking names with a hammer, or slithering in the dark with a knife, or anything else (except staffs, cause their boring and I would prefer swords over them) like Im getting so annoyed by the lack of imagination, these authors have, to add people are always complaining about the religion of a stories plot or how open the mac becomes so fast yet when they write an original they fall into the same mistakes. I'm just baffled by this to the point where I have been declining the thought to read any story that has an my who focuses on the way of the sword (in this instance a giant sword does not fall under this category as they can be considered as an exotic weapon)

The poles being arm length and not the spear sizes or you can do two short spears that would be nice

lynerparel yes, any weapon you can fully focus on that incorporates a form of intent can be a dao, a tool the just has multiple weapons does not form a dao because it spotless you up into following multiple intents without making them one(I think this may explain it, maybe). I could be wrong

lynerparel wow you imagination is wild. But it can be the dao of the reaper and followed up with slaughter, while the chains just be a side weapon used as an auxiliary
