Ok, so given that Web Novel has a very sizeable base of original content creators (as far as I know), there are sure to be some hidden gems that are truly good stories. I have found several that are primarily of the Eastern Fantasy/Fantasy genres.

However, unfortunately a lot of these stories are dropped due to extenuating circumstances of the author or such.
Who has found a really good original (any genre), only to realise it is dropped?
And what were the story/stories?

Amazing story, actually translated from Russian iirc. Had to get dropped due to the translators starting Uni or something. Other than a fair amount of basic translation errors (adjective after noun, mistypes, etc.) the grammar and writing was actually quite good too.

Storm Caller - The New Era

This was one of the really intriguing VR Eastern Fantasy stories that became the rage after one of them came out (think it was Nirvana or some shit). I quite liked the way cultivation worked in this one, it was simple but well-grounded and easy to understand.

Technically dropped, though it might still be updated on Moonquill (will need to check). Probably the most psychological story I have read on Web Novel and it was an amazing psychological story.

Hmm depends for me... I am a very weird writer. I cannot ever force myself to write, it turns out absolutely horrible. However, I am consistent when I do write. Binging, it would be like 3 chapters for 5-6 hours work inc!using editing, formatting for mobile and such.
I mean, my now hiatus'd book (rewrite being planned) released chapters in batches of 3 or 4 in the span of a day (all nighters). I also have school and other interests so I don't actually even plan much (which I must do to write properly these days) soo...

Adding on quickly, there is the perfect space under tags and above rating (for genre list one).

Over time, I have noticed one particular thing about original novels that always irritate me. Sure, fan fiction annoyed me when it was in the other genres, but I got used to it. this thing however, is incredibly annoying.

Hiatus.

I know it sounds like a complaint to the authors, but it isn't. I completely understand why authors undergo hiatus or drop books, god knows I have done both a couple times on here and other sites. It is more the fact that you cannot actually tell if a book is hiatus'd until you go in and go to content.
Maybe if there was a last updated/status function on webnovel that let people know when a book was hiatus'd. Normally, authors let people know and change their title to include a hiatus tag, but others just go poof and no one sees them ever again.

While I can understand, maybe something came up in an authors personal life, I still think that maybe a little box or something next to author on list that changes colour depending on when book was last updated would be nice.

The only genre I see with generally fair reviews for good books in that they rarely get spam, is Eastern Fantasy
but they tend to be the most shameless group too

Ahh this is even crazier. He is an EF writer (Eastern Fantasy), is uncontracted (been offered but rejected for one story iirc) and is writing 3 stories at a rate of 2 chaps per week for EACH.

This totals out to the rate of CocoonedCow, the author of True Martial World who is getting paid to sit in a room and write.

Ahh ok. Being honest, in this case, if I recall correctly, there are only 2 reviews (excluding authors). Both are over 4 stars. Seems kind of suspicious but meh

Agree with you. I mean, my favourite author couldn't upload for a week due to his boss overworking him on the weekend and not one of his readers complained.

When he did release after, he had spent almost a day and triple released the book whose release day he missed as an apology.

Does anyone think that an author who is getting constant complaints from entitled little brats like the creator of this discussion is going to feel motivated enough to go the extra mile as an apology?
