AzureWolf Stop the bullshit. Authors are very happy with these 'so-called' slave contracts they signed, since they are making millions a year just from it.
The clause of being able to continue is just there to protect the company in cases when the author unfortunately passes away. The company has been in the business for 17 years, and I challenge you to find a case when a popular book was written by ghost writers, leaving the author helpless. There are so many good books out there that got dropped by the authors. Do you see them getting 'picked up' by the company?
Heavy-class authors, especially Chang Yu, who was promoted to a Platinum Author before the book was banned, are given very good treatment by the company. Fully-paid vacations a year, etc. Just see some of the English original authors in 2018 and 2019. They have been invited to China (and in Philippines, giving the local authors more exposure) for various events all free. Why? Because they are the golden geese of the company. The company will be stupid to exploit ONE book and end up losing the numerous books the author can write under them in the future.
The company won't just hire some ghost writer to finish up the book for a high-level author because they know how important they are. Their creativity and ability to write are not replaceable. And if it's some shitty novel, who cares about it? Readers don't care, the company obviously won't care to even continue it either since it's not profitable.
Chang Yu is still fighting SARFT on the unbanning of the book and he has no intention to continue writing another book (when he could be making a lot more money).
As you can see from his public WeChat, he often posts "Thank you for your support" or says "please continue waiting" when readers mention "I hope IRAS is unbanned" or "please start a new book".

And finally me asking him in end-October 2018, if there's any news from SARFT: None.
