Daily updates section is randomized for any novels updating daily. I think it adds novels to the random draw each day based on if a novel has updated 7 days in a row or more. Keep in mind that daily updates operates on Beijing time, so factor that into your calculations. It's pretty normal to get on the daily updates section once every week or two if you update daily, but since it's luck based it can happen a lot more or less.

If you want to get featured in the trending section, that's manually selected by the curator Edgbarry (I'm probably messing the name up slightly,) Typically getting featured there lasts for three days and results in many more views than the daily update section. To get featured on trending, there are basically four methods.
1. The best method. Join the Webnovel discord and ask the curator to be featured on trending. If you're not sure of his name then just ask the fellow discord users for it and/or advice. They're very active over there.
2. Get selected by the curator based on luck because he happened to find/like/select your book.
3. Win a writing contest with a newly created book. This doesn't apply to your existing book.
4. Get offered a contract with Webnovel and sign it. Contracted novels are featured regularly.

A question if you don't mind! Is there a specific requirement for your book even if you message the curator. I'm sure he wouldn't accept every story proposed to him on discord. Perhaps, like how many chapters the novel has, etc.

I'm not really sure. I've never asked to be featured before. I got selected without asking and then got contracted. I've seen books with only 30ish chapters featured and I've seen books with way more. If you're going to ask, it's good to try and plan it when you might have some bonus chapters to release or when you're near the peak/finish of an important story arc. Worst case scenario is you ask him and he says no. You've got nothing to lose.

I have seen a book with 10 chapters on potential starlets yet mine with 30 chapters still not there yet so idk
