The first story Feisty Dessert is about a female hunter who focus the rest of her life hunting and tracking demons after she lost everything.

The second story is about a young nerd who ends up being entangled with creatures that have been documented as a creature of myth. Now she have to live her life hiding her new roommates and avoid getting killed by other creatures.

          Also, the way you worded the summary above and the cover for some reason made me think of a suspenseful thriller or a mystery horror. I think it's because faceless or featureless people (cough. detective conan) on covers make me think of criminals. >3</
