I actually laughed out loud when i saw the price, when i first saw it i was thinking, ahh it definitely won't be any more expensive than a relatively premium service such as Netflix....how wrong i was.

What i would like to know is how they came to the conclusion of it being worth such a ludicrouse amount? I mean £24 for the first month and thats with a 50% discount.

Not that I WOULD pay £6 (Netflix price) a month for the Webnovel service, but a regular price of £48 a month, god forbid even £24 a month, surely you jest?

Ow also, It may be $24.99 but when paid in £'s (£23.99) it equate to roughly $31.30/M roughly give or take.... and after the first month :') .. I've also seen people from other countries complain about the exchange rates. Its a Joke, keeps getting worse.

On the plus side ive just found around 700 chapters to read without paying SS as they need ss's from chapter 185 onwards, thanks GravityTales :')

It would cost me about $2,900 Canadian to read my entire backlog of premium chapters. So $16 Canadian I would pay is worthwhile. Only for the very first month though after that? The price is laughable.

Those people at Qidian just based on a random price and probably never bothered to look at what the international market is charging for other entertainment... they probably never heard about what is Netflix.

I laughed too.. too expensive!! I mean Amazon unlimited ebook are only $10 a month and they are fully novel too!! This is just laughable!!

Iartchi that's because Netflix has a wider market, they could easily cover their expenses with still a lot to spare.

While webnovel have such a messy organization. Most of their staffs are employed under different companies and workshops which leads to unfair treatment to everyone. Long story short, more expenses. But wait there's more, they throw that stupidity to their consumers for them to shoulder... and that's how you get an almost $50/mo 'elite' subscription.

And i bet everything is spelt correctly and makes gramatical sense! Not that i mind the mistakes too much its just a point to make with regards to the price

bachingchung I realise that they have a wider market, but even netflix started small, and im SURE their overheads and amount of employees and the salary that they pay their employees is waaaay higher too, im sure webnovel would benefit more from making it maybe $6-10 a month, more people would do it, creating a larger community that can grow and i think they'd still be well off with that much.

I agreed they need to get their shit together.

Not to mention losing translators or dropping novels randomly. Gourmet of Another World is still premium and its release rate and stability is shit.

Iartchi many chinese companies are poorly ran. There are a few exceptions.. like Huawei, Tecent, Alibaba... but the rest are duh.

They just have to wait for the market to bite them back.

SRandom No kidding.. they could fly me over for a month all expenses paid, but dont need to pay me and i'd gladly help lol! theyre just soooo unorganised its a joke, no apologese about missing tgif#52 or all the people who have subscribed and are yet to recieve the service.

I was shocked when I saw the price! It is twice expensive than the most expensive Netflix package. 😂 I was considering it but then I saw the price...

                  2 months later

I thought the price was perfect personally...

In the philipphines a student having a debit or credit card is unbelievably rare thats why im having trouble on how to pay can they include gcash or paymaya maybe ? Its online so its easier

TheRealPie The idea of paying £24 is laughable. $24 US is also laughable. If I pay $20 to buy spirit stones, I will have more than enough to pay for most chapters that I need to read in that month. How many people have the luxury to follow over 10 novels? And this is their subscription model? No doubt they are getting high off the green they harvest from us.

Having said that, I do think that setting a lower price point would be more enticing. $20 is more affordable and gives more value to those who are paying about the same amount to keep up with thair favorite novels. It is also more than what many would pay, but affordable enough as an incentive for those who are behind.

Because, let's be serious: Amazon's Audible is $15, and that gives me access to any and everything I want to listen to. I can't even listen to the novels on here and I am being asked to pay $25... come on.

The price is absurd, honestly, considering the fact that 95% of all romance novels are the same recycled story over and over again. And, I have yet to find an original work that's more than subpar (though to be fair, I haven't explored that much yet). And so, the service they provide is not even worth it for the price point. It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever encountered, seriously LOL.

This post will soon become sort of useless as they are actually removing subscription as some Authors income has fallen . And will come up with a new model which will make everyone happy apparently 😅😗
