@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL @Webnovel_Staff can you at least bring back the randomizer for both daily check in and "watch ad"? At least with that I and other broke readers have the chance of getting 30ss instead of at most 20ss like wtf is exp going to give us? Nothing so far that I've seen. Or maybe y'all can tell us what exactly this exp is good for? Do we get more ss if we level up? Cuz I can vote for stories n stuff whoppdie friggin doo but I only get ONE 5ss vote in power and energy and the rest are just to give the author the feel goods (or upgrade in pay, good for them) now if it was 5ss earned PER vote, that'd be amazing but yall cant even give us that much so what more do we have to do to get you there? Do we have to fly to your HQ and get on our knees to beg?

I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with this decision in a very large sense. I am reading 12 different novels and it is far more cost effective to have a subscription on here than to constantly buy stones. I've spent close to $300 on stones prior to getting the subscription and I'm not keen to spend more. I read close to 2000 minutes a week and this subscription was like a lifesaver. If an alternative doesn't present itself soon I may drop this app altogether.

Takom3_evol Yeah, being able to read different types of stories based on my mood was nice while it lasted. Now they do indeed taunt. Thankfully, I did save some SS, so I can at least sorta binge one novel... 😒

geeiein pretty much exactly this. The prices for spirit stones compared with the spirit stone cost for chapters is insane. Some novels are nice but overall the quality is not in any way better than a book from kindle or from your local bookshop. I'm not paying 60+ USD for a single book, so why should I pay the same amount in spirit stones per chapter ending up with the same.

The subscription was a good compromise for value and cost for people who read a lot. If the prices for spirit stones don't change drastically or a reasonable subscription system comes out, I will likely just get novels elsewhere, like amazon and overall it will be cheaper. Paying for a good book is fine, but paying 3-5 times what I would pay for a hardcover copy is just a ripoff.

I get the not unlocking chapters in subscription part. But I think you are wrong about this being so different from other subscription siteslike Netflix etc.
I get these other sites have much more customers - but they didn't get them by profiteering and making as much money as they can on their content. Also having normal website and having streaming content is completely different in terms of costs.
Look at how much we pay here for books. If I go to bookstore and buy paper book I get it cheaper then here on webnovel (page/cost). And here on webnovel they don't pay much of additional cost for material and personnel As they do when you publish it as print.
And from how it is presented - Webnovel subscription should be more like library then buying books - because you don't get to download them, you read them and when you stop paying you loose all access..

Also I am actually mad about web novel not as much because i hate their price policy - as I dislike how they treat they customers. I didn't get to bow they are shutting down service I am paying for until it happened. No explanation or anything to posts here. No plans for the future, no information on what will happen etc.

I'm done, fairly happily even when I'm paying twice the price of my netflix and spotify subscriptions and your still not milking enough out of me? they can go out and find new readers because I wont be one

roku012 Are you even comparing the right stuff? Movies cost a bomb to produce surely translating a book or writing one would cost way less..

cleetonjake honestly I might do the same. I did buy a bit of ss but never as much as you lol. If they don't do something soon I'm probably gonna leave, I liked some of the stories on here but it's not worth it if I'm gonna have to wait 4 months to even read it fully by getting the free ss. Idk when I joined it was nice and a lot of the stories actually inspired me to do writing. But that's of course when I could actually read other books now that I'd either have to wait a long time to read a full book (which is ridiculous tbh) or just fork out a good chunk of cash, I'd rather just leave and go somewhere else.

I feel like the problem is that the cost of the subscription is high enough that the only people that buy it are those that read a lot of chapters, which results in their loss. If regular people saw a $10 per month subscription option, more people would buy it and there would probably be a good chunk of people that don't fully utilize the subscription, thus offsetting the cost of the people that read a lot. Personally, I have a Google music subscription and a Netflix subscription that I only occasionally use, which is basically free money for them. I don't mind letting them sit there for $10 a month for the convenience of not having to start/stop the subscription for when I do want them. For a $25 subscription? You bet that I'm using every bit of it.

What, you mean Webnovel doesn't care about its customers and will make any changes they want, regardless of how it affects its customers? Say it ain't so.

Webnovel needs to understand that their biggest competition is aggregator sites. All these novels will get posted elsewhere so if their pricing plan is not reasonable then there's nothing stopping people from leaving to read for free in other places. It's the same for anything...Webnovel might be unique in what they're doing but piracy is an option and one that people will take more and more as the price to read here stays unreasonable. Most people with income would gladly pay for services they use over pirating them if the price is reasonable.

I thought the subscription was a little pricey but worth the cost to avoid a paywall after every single chapter. Now I find my subscription suddenly cancelled with no option to renew. I'll probably hang around long enough to use up my stones. After that I will switch to a different platform. There are too many other online options with similar or lower prices. I'm not sure why you don't want my subscription money any more...but I will have no trouble finding somewhere else to spend it

I had purchased Hundreds if not thousands of chapters through grinding spirit stones and small purchases here and there. When the subscription came out, I got it immediately. Unfortunately, now with it ended, all the chapters are locked, including ones I had purchased. This is outright stealing back chapters I had paid for before. Worst thing is, I was in the middle of rereading 40,000 millenniums of Cultivation. I would have to repurchase hundreds of chapters I’ve already bought once. Can we get an update of when subscription comes back? I’m not buying anymore until then.
