His original comment didn’t criticize and assume like saying you’re a bad editor or something, he only made a suggestion because if you want to come across as professional, then it doesn’t take too much to capitalize and spellcheck your words.
I already viewed your story’s writing, so I know that you’re capable of it. However, it’s true that the first impression is important for potential clients, especially where money is concerned. All the shorthand writing like “editor frm past 7 yrs and this z d first time smbdy is questning my abilities without evn” doesn’t establish the case well for having perfect English. Not even native English speakers can claim “perfect” English.
I believe your skills, but it’s also true that some people won’t after seeing the misspells. This is just passing advice so that you can get more people to employ your services. Also, maybe provide an example of your work or tell people to read your story? Seeing your skills might be beneficial for getting people who interested in editors.
