      The10thCrow WN is already aware of this. I write World Domination System, so, just like you, I've always kept a close eye on the original rankings. Yes, there has been a steady influx of female-oriented novels, but WN has taken a great step. In the new app, which can be found in the beta post that is pinned, you can choose a default filter which will enable u to only see male lead novels, or vice versa. So, those interested in these genres will now have an easier time searching for more books to read.

And the demand for female oriented books is higher than male oriented books(because there is more female readers overall). What I'm saying this website base on the trend that I have observed with other sites might/eventually turn to a second wattpad. And look at wattpad now where are male oriented books?

            They come, they out demand us they conquer our ranking and eventually the whole website is littered with their bullshit. And what do males hate the most?                 1. Romance oriented literature isn't exclusive to a female audience. They also tend to spend more effort into character development than classic cultivation novel.

                2. Your understanding of supply and demand is bad. As long as there is demand for "non female" oriented books there will be supply. If demand for "female" oriented book exceed demand for "non female" oriented book there will simply be more "female" oriented books. That doesn't mean the supply on "non female" oriented books will lessen.

                The10thCrow I agree partially I guess without a shadow of doubt the female MC Novels have invaded Webnovel heavily and also occupied top 10 I mean look at it even completed Novel FMHM is still in top 3 even how many weeks (it's a great novel I have read as well as voted for it) but this Trial Marriage one definitely doesn't deserve top spot too much repetition of stuff. Well people have different tastes and have to be respected. But these days the female MC Novels are almost the same especially the CEO ones they are outright crazy I guess it's the ongoing trend. A pity that a few gems are also hidden among them. These types have become more generic than our OP shameless CN MCs they are every where.

                One thing I give props to Webnovel is that they divided new voting to male and female or else as it's a daily task and female comes first many just blindly vote for them. I myself vote semi blindly I just look at Male MC and give a vote to each ( I am not against any Female MC Novel) but because of division there is bit balanced I anyone can clearly see the no of votes they tilt heavily on Female MC makes me think oooh we have many female readers or Romance fans but I remember it's daily task and think of Humans laziness or indifference perhaps.

                Well all in all its just my opinion still with out a shadow of doubt Webnovel is getting crowded. And it's not even free well we don't have right to complain regarding this 😂. Still I feel a bit moderation is required 🙏

                    Guess I’m one of those ‘abnormal’ females who actually has their screen set to ‘male’ because she’s tired of all the ceo romances.. 😅 I still like them no doubt—I have a really wide range of genres I like—but maybe the problem is with the automatic gender split Webnovel has in place (male and female, like really?). Whether the lead is FL or ML, it doesn’t matter so much to me as long as they’re good and the story is compelling.

                    But in speaking of ‘originality,’ I’ve seen plenty on both sides with the same old storyline, namely cultivation/litrpg for male and romance for female. This wouldn’t be bad, but it amazes me how similar a broad plot can be written so many times. Like, isn’t there so many ways to fall in love? Why is it always the same? Same with cultivating and leveling up... Meh whatever. I still haven’t tried out all the books yet, so that’s a testament to the amount of content available which is good.

                      The10thCrow I do agree that those over-bearing MLs are rather annoying but just because a novel has one doesn't mean that all of it's aspects are bad, there are still the good aspects and plenty of interesting books out there that are still interesting even if they have one of them MLs and as you said it, used to be male oriented majority so obviously there will be times where it'll be female oriented majority, things will just be alternating. It doesn't always have to be male oriented majority and things will be always alternating and changing, trying to reach an equilibrium, going back and forth.

                      Also, please respect those novels because although you may not like them does not mean other people do not like them, just see their power rankings, (although I do admit that they aren't the best morally and realistically especially the r** ones) but that doesn't mean that they deserve to be called sht and stupid.

                      My point is to respect those novels because translators, editors and writers have put effort into them, giving constructive criticism is understandable and helpful but it really hurts when someone is just plain insulting your hard work, constructive criticism is different from plain disrespect and rudeness.

                      In addition, novels are the result of the writer's imagination and everyone thinks of stuff with different opinions, with writers thinking up of different plot lines which some may like and some dislike.

                      Plus just because it's female oriented doesn't mean that males can't read them, just like how females can read male oriented novels such as Douluo Dalu and Coiling Dragon (they do coz I'm female and I really like them)

                          You misunderstood. I am saying females are more likely to look for Originals (because they want more romance materials). That's why they push these original harder.
                          Males on the other Hand (my speculation) are mostly satisfied with the translated ones and might neglect Originals (either Male or female oriented.
                          Because of this imbalance in commitment and demand for originals, female oriented book gained more popularity in the Rankings.
                          I mean, I think assume that the Portion of male Readers is higher than female, so why are the Rankings still balanced otherwise?

But some of those novels with that kind of ML are still good but I keep on seeing MLs who meets the FL once and then suddenly starts stalking or harassing them🤦‍♀️, like... NO MEANS NO, DO YOU REALLY NEED THEM TO REPEAT IT 100 TIMES!!! Though, just because a novel has that kinda ML doesn't mean that it's a bad novel overall, btw people should not learn from such MLs, if you didn't know, such actions of stalking and harassment can get you into legal trouble🤦‍♀️😓.
