I finished doing a revised outline for Zaldizko. I'm toying with the idea of going traditional for it. Toying is the word. I realised when I finished, how much of an original story I've written.
I'm not bragging here. I honestly can't think of a story written today that is similar to it. This isn't a good thing. It's actually freaking me out. This freak out is because I'm trying to find that "one size fits all" category for publishing submissions. I can't find it, so just opting for "fantasy" and hoping for the best.
As Zaldi's bit of historical fantasy, boys love, brotherhood, knights, dark fantasy, action, adventure and magical realism. No one category fits all. I know my chances for selection is narrow with the story not written specifically for publishing houses' given categories and markets.
The business of trying to sell books is a pain. Just as well this is my hobby and not a living. I'd be homeless otherwise.
