Veronica8 It's definitely scary to do something very different not knowing what the response will be, but in terms of what I consider "real literature" that isn't some rehash of some seen before story, I think it's better this way. Originality and novelty do get applauded. That doesn't mean everyone will be successful for being unique but... people that do see are more likely to be impressed or find it refreshing. (I think?) Idk, maybe this is just me. XD
Before Webnovel, I literally ate books when I was young (and didn't have to devote so much time to school and work). I can't think of a single book that was similar, like 20% similar or more to another book I read. They were all different. Several were romances for example, but not a single one was the same. This is unlike the romances seen on here... So I guess what I'm saying is that uniqueness is more common in the traditional publishing world. I also think that it's preferred too considering the professional reviews you find on the back of books. You won't find anything saying, if you like so and so novels about this [insert trope] then you'll like this novel. Compared to online novels, well this is everywhere. XD It's just a different audience. They're also bound to be more critical and harsher with a higher standard. (I mean literary critics come on. I imagine them as all stuffy scholars who think they know best---which can be true as well as not with anyone.)
Anyway, good luck!! (>w<)/
