we didn't get the The Record of Unusual Creatures: 10 chapters

The minimum for weekend SS has dropped to 12 from 15?

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Do you mean that the limited free will be canceled? Is that why there’s no limited free for a while??

BlueBurning I agree bcos it sucks that u cant reread a book u loved during that time without buying ss

Igemona Momo!!! Judging hard I see 🤣 But I agree. Too many trashy romance novels. I haven't even checked tgifs in a looong time because of this. I'm just here for the discounts xD

mithun Tbh, I refuse to believe any of the non-romance TLs haven't stocked up on chapters! I get that romance novels typically have 5 of so shorter chapters a day in a place of the really lengthy singular ones but this is ridiculous!!! It's been years since I haven't been blinded by CEO this and CEO that! You're losing your orginal readers Webnovel!!! There's no longer a need to appeal to the female audience anymore. Chill

leonodus Yo! I just found and picked these up! Probably would have found them sooner had they not be buried under all these trashy novels. The standards here have really dropped!

XOMatsumaeohana I heard from a TL that it was Webnovel's policy to mass release when there are surplus chapters edited and finished. Romance novels have shorter chapters, I'll give them that, but I doubt it's something they sign up for.

I've actually tried getting into them since that's all there seems to be these days. But if there isn't rpe involved, there's almost rpe( ̄へ ̄)all within the first few chapters. So I proceed to drop them like a hot potato. Not to mention a lot of these orginal novels get dropped after 20-30 or so chapters... and the grammar facepalm

These just aren't realistic novels to be reading, I can't encourage it. And don't give me the "it's just a novel" excuse either. They're rife with kidnapping, r*pe, and drama on a telnova level. Oh, I forgot the racism too.

Mass release ussually has closed chaps what needs to be opened with stones. So its kinda qidian thing to not release other genre novels. I really dont understand why would you come and read chinese novels for romance. Why? If western culture is fullof that ####. Why???? I read chinese novels because of fantasy, martial arts, cultivation, rpg systems, slaughter. And yeah someof psyhology too..... But again. Wtf you pay enourmous amount of money and time to just read chinese romance novelz. Whyyyy???? Most stupid thing what have heard that chinese translator translated twilight series books for chinese.

Lust, Like vengeance, Demands Red, is not romance.. is an evil protagonist type of novel.

BluebellBerry Im also a contracted author, so I can tell you TGIF if something original authors sign up for. So yes it is up to the original writers whether they mass release or not. Hence the long list of original romance you see on this list, There are some romance novels with lengthy chapters if you looked. While the majority do have CEO in their title, there are novels with the CEO title but don't actually focus on that aspect much.

The grammar? Can't speak for everybody but the ones I do know and have maintained their top spots work hard on their grammar, and getting editors if they can't work on it alone. But well if these novels aren't too your liking, then that is fine. Just find something you like, explore forums - look for anybody with the novel badge and try their novels out.

There are plenty of hidden gems and while it is a bother to search manually they do exist originals with great writing styles, that are romances without the same plot line. But agreeing with the people trash talking the novels won't help. I hope you find more novels you like.

As for translations, not familiar with the procedure. But I do see most ML novels release long chapters anyway so there is no need for them to join TGIF.

Well, it is sad when people dig on the CEO novels. I don't know what to add anymore than what XOMatsumaeohana has already written but the romance authors have a lot of competition, and the way they write and present their stories to stay up there is a different thing altogether. Writing 3-10 chapters for mass release is certainly not easy. But then the authors are writing because readers love them. And then you get to hear that WN is being partial to them...

TGIF is on voluntary basis. Contracted authors have to opt for it.

XOMatsumaeohana at last someone shed light how these mass release works. For me if novel itself is good translation can be avarege. As everyone starts and learns by time. And there will be some grammar mistakes. That can accept. But not some ##### think they can mess with mc name. Like SuperGene did. I think who read will understand. Hate these kinda pranks. In reality for me funny is to beat people who make pranks. But thats that. Qidian should make revival for novels. To put some hiatus novels for vote what to revive, to restart translation.

There are indeed some good CEO stories out there, and I enjoy quite a few. The CEO’s woman was mentioned, and that’s one original I really like for having a proper strong FL character that doesn’t depend on the ML to sweep her off her feat and do everything for her. I’d take and read these types of CEO stories any day.

However, just as there are good ones, there are bad apples too to put it nicely. And since the romance genre is indeed overcrowded and competitive, this means that there are lots of.... subpar CEO novels too. This isn’t good for the reputation of the actually good ones as one bad apple can spoil the bunch.

After a while, even with the good CEO stories, they end up treading the same paths, whether revenge, face slapping, genius abilities, reincarnation, transmigration, etc. So at this point, I just stick to ones where I enjoy the characters a lot rather than basing it on the story which I can usually predict.

In short, I do feel for the romance authors who have it tough due to being trashed simply for their genre. I’m glad that they’re continuing to write as denoted by their frequent appearances in TGIF.

However, the one thing that I do sincerely wish for is to see a decrease in such romance novels with rape between the leads. That is all.

XOMatsumaeohana I didn't know that it was optional for original authors, and I do appreciate the few good ones that I've found. But diging them out takes too much time and effort. Several times I've been disappointed by novels that reuse popular troupes found in Hidden Marriage and the like. Several times I've found novels with great beginnings only to have the author drop off writing altogether. No notice, no excuses, no goodbyes, and absolutely no closure.

You mentioned that some romance novels to have longer chapters. They're very few and far between and hardly compare to any novels that I actively support averaging ~19, peaking at 24SS. I only know of Murder the Dream Guy and When a Snail Falls in Love (which was stolen over) that can compare on terms of quality and length. But just because they have longer chapters they don't need mass releases?! Webnovels are designed to end with cliffs so that they keep the readers coming back again and again. Some of these novels take years to finish after all. The hunger for more is not less than for any other novel if not more so!!!

Quidian was originally male dominated, and as one of the original readers, I'm glad that the community has grown and included more variety. BUT clearly the og users are now being tossed aside. You may feel nothing wrong with the current development because it's beneficial to your interests, but I can't complain when I'm feeling wronged?!

I'm not just looking at the mass release novels. The standard of all the new novels have dropped. Romance being the one picked on most because they dominate the site now. Grammar and copying issues were hardly a problem when the site first started. Maybe with the exception of one or two more obscure novels. Now, even novels with editors are riddled with glaring mistakes that take away from the experience. As an author yourself you may find a need to defend them, but are you seriously going to ignore all these problems and pretend they are fine? I am a paying user and this isn't the service that brought me here. Do not deny me of my voice when they clash with your interests! Would you say the same if the opposite were true? Going with your argument, if I said romance novels didn't need a mass release because they give multiple chapters a day, would you think nothing of it??
