Reinesse I should put a stop to that habit of mine as well
Post the links to your entries for contest 71&72
I finished 10 chaps of mine, successfully crossing 10k words. Woohoo!
Reinesse dillydally_girl Thank you guys for the help and tolerating my dumb self...
NatsumeRikka I gave a review, may I get one as well?

Also, can I request some honest opinions from you guys? As you would know what kind of content is preferred on WN. Just tell me whatever you think about my novel. Time is really important to me, as I am still a student and I need to study a lot (like 4-5hrs a day except 8 hrs of school) so please tell me if I'm not wasting my time on this. I love to write and writing clears up my mind. You can criticize me any way you like, I won't mind ( as I know that I don't know anything about writing novels) Reinesse NatsumeRikka dillydally_girl

mysterious_being Imma jump on this question; even though, I wasn’t mentioned.
Unfortunately, WN has clear favorites on what kind of content it likes and usually ends up as popular. Those are 1) romance, notably CEO, revenge, transmirgration or reincarnation ones; 2) wuxia/xianxia cultivation; 3) monsters/hunters capturing/taming/battling; 4) video games with OP MC and RSSG-like dynamics or virtual reality qualities; 5) anything R-18 which may or may not have harem and mixed genres/types of the previously 1-4 mentioned, and 6) fan fiction of popular stories/movies/shows etc. that likley includes 1-5 genres/types mentioned.
As for your story, to be honest, it reminds me of many stories that I’ve seen that’s written well enough for WN standards and does something different, but because of how the site is set up, aka poor exposure of new authors and hidden gems that are unique to the mainstream stuff, it takes a long time for such stories like yours to get traction. And especially since you’re new to the site, it’s even harder to get noticed. In short, what I’m trying to say is that no matter how good of a story and writer someone is, they may no get the possibly warranted exposure and popularity.
So waste of time? That’s debatable. If you love writing and find it enjoyable, I say just continue without an expectation of something more. Over time, you might even get to that success or popularity. Daily updates, or just frequent ones, regardless of story quality, is also very popular on WN too. So if you keep at it, who knows? There have been stories that don’t fall into the 1-6 mentioned or have daily updates and still get notable success. Grinding for reviews definitely helps along with reading and commenting on other stories to get your name out there. Good luck! (:

Chryiss yep she is right @mysterious_being if you really like to write, then do your thing. Continue your passion. It may seem like you are wasting your time, having small views, sometimes no comments (the likes). But you know persistence is good. Someday people will notice your work. Just continue and trust in your guts.
Thank you sooo much Chryiss and dillydally_girl , I've decided I'll update regularly for WPC#71 (though it is almost over) then I'll just write whenever I feel low. Even if I do not get popular or anything, I won't care and I'll write to free up my mind!
mysterious_being i can only judge grammars and stuff despite not being able to apply it to myself and it would be inappropriate to point them all out considering you're just a newbie. psychologically speaking, knowing about those complicated stuff first would only slow down your progress, at least in my opinion, since you'd have a sorta perfectionist mindset. idk what i'm rambling about since i can just say no.
You know what, I've noticed something. This contest is a healthy competition. Unlike the other contest I entered last month. People kept backstabing each other, dragging one another (the likes). Here, it's different. We do our contest in a healthy way. Helping each other to cultivate more. Though the contest is ending soon, I say, I'm so glad to enter in this contest. Some of you help me out to improve. I'm so happy. Thank you....
dillydally_girl though it was funny seeing the petty fights in that fan-fic contest
Reinesse I've been ruthless at grammar since whenever I started studying it
mysterious_being i was thirteen years old when i started writing here in webnovel so my knowledge was rather limited. when i tried reading my own novel, i wasn't satisfied and then i saw people asking for guidance in the forums. an editor replied to me constructively and with extremely detailed instructions. it's just one reply but it was enough to increase my quality by two notches. he didn't point out anything with the grammar but rather the sentence and paragraph constructions. unfortunately, i don't think he's active anymore.
Reinesse I have nothing to say after hearing you out ... You've come a long way, and it'll take much more time for me to even think of getting where you are right now. But I really don't mind that, as I do not wish to become an author or anything... I just feel better when I let my imagination go wild and it is a way to freshen up for me, since my main goal/focus/thing right now is studying. My mind gets really worked up after school so it helps me relieve my stress so I can concentrate well again.
Mmm this got really long

Reinesse Also, thanks for the power stones... I just saw that. I'll return all of them in slots as soon as I get mine again --I am guilty- smile
please forgive me
mysterious_being i'm envious that you can actually focus on studying... during school days, i use writing as a way to procrastinate.
mysterious_being and no need for it. i saw my number of ps and thought that i won't be able to catch up with the rank one anyway so i just decided to pick a novel to vote. and besides, as of now, you are guaranteed to be at least rank 6. the others hadn't reached the 10k words quota anyway.
Reinesse I have no other way besides focusing on studying.... The career path I chose requires a heck lot of time and effort and the competition in my place is, I can just describe it in numbers.
The exam I want to give after a year, has 15,00,000 other students competing for some 36,000 government college seats, so you can see how low the probability is of me getting into a reputed college.
This got really boring cries
mysterious_being lol tru. but good luck dealing with your eyebags. i still have mine cries and it's like vacation already cries harder
