Are you crazy you expect people to pay exorbitant amounts to temporarily read chapters in advance that will then be locked and will need to be paid for again.

Xenamurai It's similar to gaming addicts, I have seen a lot of gamer addicts using their family credit card and going bankrupt.
Qidian is using that as a weakness to scam the people who are rich or addicted.
Enlightened_Being Of course it is, brain reacts in the same way for most of types of addictions. Not legal practice everywhere though.

I got ripped off as well. The instructions were vague; I should have checked the forums first. Darn. Got click bait there. I didn't think they'll impose restrictions on said privileges. I thought that I'll have 5 advance reading chapter unlocks for which ever novel I choose to read. It turns out I have 5 advance reading unlocks for that 1 novel I applied privileges under. I really thought it would be across the board min 5 chapters a day per novel. WB was truly adapted a misleading deal. Argh! I lost a bunch of SS for nothing. And what's up with the advance chapter? Usually authors/translators update 2 chapters a day. Why is the regular update inclusive in the advance reading chapters? It should be 2chapters (regular) + 5 advance reading chapters. Argh. So frustrating.
