Quick question is there a Policy agreement on qidian that they will not share your payment information with others? I have just read through it just now and it seems there is a gap in the privacy policy, where they can share out your info, under circumstances you might wanna check that out. They are also allowed to use the information collected from you, "We use information we collect on the Service in a variety of ways in providing the Service and operating our business" a quote.... they also have a list of included items but I'm pretty sure it's not limited to those included items since it does not say....I'm not lawyer but I doubt it's implied that it's only limited to those items. LMAO
In fact if I buy anything on qidian I think I will only trust paypal because then my information is at least partially secure from qidian. Then I can only hold paypal liable for any damages.

It's because of you people that they can do this to us. Before they ever go into the western translation community everything was free and we could support the translators as we see fit.
Now they want us to support them in order to make them more and more money. Good luck in giving them your wealth to make them richer which you stay in the same place.
You are content in eating your $10 meals While supporting them so that they can wine and dine in $1000 restaurants.

Yudi Well I support them finding a way to make money because many translators and readers, and some editors gave excuse that they could not properly manage the novels release (number of releases, quality of releases, notification of releases etc.) because they did not have the money and manpower to do so. So maybe if we let a couple suckers pay, qidian will get the money to improve the translation quality, the standard of service and even the releases of some novels.
Now suckers are in this world for a reason, not everyone can be at the top of the foodchain thats the law of life, if people wanna throw away their money go ahead, throw it here though, and Qidian make sure to do those improvements while it lasts because if you wanna end up a multibillion dollar company it's best to convince folks that you are worth investing in, not just paying for random novels.
I look forward to seeing improvement, less early access means nothing to me, I always let them stack up 50 at a time before I read em anyways. I would be so much more happy, if i can be promised a solid translation without even the slightest typo or random name change.

And I just made some calculations: 200 words are one spirit stone. If you take the first Harry Potter with 75k words you would get around 375 chapters with 200 words. You can get 100 spirits stone (at the moment) for 1€ (sry, am from EU), so you are paying 4€ for a length comparable to a normal book. I do not find this very expensive

Silberkinn Well, Harry Potter isn't %80 filler like most of these novels tho. So you better multiply that 4€ with 5 in terms of actual content you are getting...
N0xiety Mmh, can't really tell because I only read RtW as of now and excluding the chapters about the dreamworld (10? 15?) I'm satisfied with the content.

Flaffy Quidan doesnt keep your payment info. That's really scary data no one smart willingly keeps it unless they have serious security. They use PayPal as a payment medium PayPal is the company you need to ask those questions about.
Anyway as a response to the threads question maybe they can introduce Amazon's payment system as well?

Silberkinn Try reading more novels and you will understand. Also please don't go preaching to people if you aren't even effected by the premium change... You can unlock all chapters of RtW with just the bonus points you get from daily free ss missions you get. If RtW is the only novel you read, ofc you won't be effected by premium. But if you are like me, i wonder if you would be fine with premium? I currently follow 22 novels so, if they all become premium, you do the math... Does that come to about $5 - $7 per day? Yeah i ain't payin $200 a month to read web novels sorry....

It does not specify exactly though it does say billing information so maybe they only mean credit card billing information? Flaffy I might be wrong. I only use the mobile site so when I make a transaction the only way to pay is PayPal. I know for a fact PayPal keeps records but I never directly gave quidan any payment info like debit card numbers they probabaly have my billing address and name though.
It might be different on android app and IOS and desktop site even so it's hard for me to say. I'd assume android and IOS go through Google pay and Apple store respectively and they keep the payment information as well.
shelwyn If you actually do read, you will see my initial post says a similar thing about paypal and how it would be liable if it gave out my info. But as you know, this thread is not about paypal it's about other forms of payment so let's stay on track yeah? Does qidian offer google pay and apple pay? I have never bought anything so.... I literally don't know, but I was never talking about them so.

PayPal is regulated it's not just some online company like back in the day ten years ago. You can trust them with your payment info I'd say a bit less than you would trust a bank at this point.
The same goes to Google store and Apple store.

Heavenly_Ant will do.Franklu, payment implement is way more complicated, especially in global basis. I suggest you can use App ans purchsing by IAP. In that case, Apple and Google help developers completed many things in backend. No need to sign agreement with each single local payment channle nor redesign the credit card payment risk control system.
