Luofuchen Calm down and try to thing of a better way to make this model work. Where translators, editors, QI staff, authors and just everyone involved in QI to be happy.
Dont forget about us, the readers.
As many of us are just leechers, who dont want to pay anything because everything should be free

it's good that translators, editors, qi staff, authors are happy. but i guess you left out the fact that consumers, customers need to be happy too in order for a business transaction to be successful. Sometimes, they're even the most critical parts of the equation. also, leechers wouldn't be leechers if they pay for things. and it's better that they're leechers than have them decided it's not worth their time to peruse novel translation of the qidian platform at all. you should appreciate leechers because they're the reason webnovel started in the first place, they're still the majority on the forum, and they play a large roll in publicizing the website to be what it is today. so i say, I stand with the leechers

QI does give free novel and it really isn't a paywall if you don't want to pay anything just wait a bit and the chapters will be unlocked. I don't understand for what reason you are rumbling.

Your analogy with poisonous food doesnt fit here. Its not that they are trying to poison us. This whole change is a nessecity to make all this work.
They have to get money back in. Question is how. Without making this 'food' to disgusting, but still make both sides happy. Readers and QI.

Wuxiaworld's and other translators have patreon or 'donations' to pay their bills. This is the money aspect of translating novels.
Some even has absurd high aim for getting big $$$ to increase weekly chapter count by 1.
no one complains here because many are just unaware of it. This QI situation is different because freebie-users are getting involved.

It is also not a real paywall, since you can still read everything. You just have to wait a lot longer. You dont have to pay to read everything.

My personal opinion is:

• Current system makes it really hard to enjoy a premium novel as free-user.
• many people dont pay, not because of dont want to but because they cant. Like young teenagers, people in tough financial situation.
• depending on how many premium novels there are, you should be able to earn your SS to read an amount of premium novel. As of february 2018, there are 4 premium novel. I would like to see ways to earn SS so ppl can at least follow 1 of the 4 novel up to the latest chapter.
So increase of SS gain is necessary.
• more ways to gain SS is a must. Maybe community driven events with SS as reward. This not only bonds the community, but also provides us with more SS. A win-win situation for both sides.

I dont like the number of increasing premium chapters.
This makes it practically impossible to catch up to the latest chapter without paying.

Numbers if free chapter/day and premium chapter/day should be the same.
Maybe QI can put a percentage of chapters behind a 'premium' wall after the translation is done. But reward those who follow the translation.

I would also like to see another way to read premium chapters. For example a 10$/month suscribtion with 3 or 6 months length. This gives us an option to read all premium chapters for lower price, while QI gets an assured income by suscribtion.

QI could think of more ways to use the current form of SS. So buying SS still remains meaningful. For example exchange 200 SS for a power stone. Or even be able to donate SS to a novel to show their support.

It's business in the first place. Why didn't you see this through? They have employees to pay. It's a way of supporting the translators/editors or Qidian itself too. :3

I find this post rather misleading, true there will be premium option but it is for binge readers, many "off grid" sites do this, pay royalty for few more chapters per release. If you can contain your inner demons and chill out till next release you will have another couple of chapters for free. That simple. Another thing to note is the " ad/ spirit stone cultivation, as ive understood you can watch ads to build up spirit stones for further reading... And tell me. In what way is this paywall? It is maybe a smokescreen that you need to wait out to clear but it is not a damn WALL...
