yes. with 50$ you can get 625 chapter in advance, but once you run out of ss, you need to wait 15 months to be able to read the chapter for free again(with the calculation 10 free chapter/week). and if you cant wait that long, you need to buy another spirit stones, thats why its like a blackhole, its just like a drugs, its so addictive, once you try it, you cant stop.
sunstrike Not really like what you said, you can also get around 20 gifted SS by daily check in and votes. Aside from that, we will give you guys more options to get free SS by watching ads. The daily gifted SS could handle almost every Premium title's daily updates unless you are following up so many titles at one time.
The other hand, we still hope you guys can buy the SS and support us. It's good for WEBNOVEL development in long run. If no ones pay the money to our contents, then our authors who created those wonderful stories will get nothing. In that case, they will loss the motivation to allowing up translate those novels for global audiences.
You might think the pervious ads will give us enough revenues to feed our authors and translators. Frankly, the ads revenues could not even handle the 1/10 of the translation cost, not even talk about the revenues sharing with our authors.
All to all, we really hope all of you guys could support our translators, editors and authors. We will loss the chance for reading web novel if they would not be benefits from the whole business. If you can't afford the payment, you can still read those premium chapters for free but just wait for a while. To be honest, all premium contents will be free to read ultimately. We care both of premium readers and normal readers who can't afford reading cost; we tried our best to give you guys free contents and allow you guys to finish every single story. But we really hope you guys can give us your best supports, even you can't pay it.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Considering the current premium novels, you would have to spend between 30-42 SS the unlock at least 1 chapter for all 4 premium novels. Assuming qidian won't make other novels premium as well, you would have to make something for us readers to gain at least more 15 SS daily, as our current daily SS is something between 17 and 22. If it keeps going this way (only 4 premium novels), we would have to spend all our daily SS on the premium novels, meaning we would be unable to keep up with any other novel on the website, and if the number of premium novels increases we would be even more limited in the number of novels we can read daily. For much as you say this is for the the better interest of everyone, I can not agree to that, as readers that like the premium novels are not able to keep up with more than 4 novels
WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL It's too expensive and we are not getting anything from it. You just took something that we had for free and put it behind a paywall. You should have added premium chapters on top of the weekly chapters, but instead you cut in half the amount of free chapters and essentially made it so everyone reads less.
WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL its a BETA program, so right now you only tested it on few novel to see the reaction. and if this program success. in the future all novel will use the premium chapter program and your daily gifted SS cant handle all of them anymore.
and you also forgot that not all of reader check in daily, some of them choose to binge reading. so if you missed 1 day, you just missed 2 chapter.

Supreme_Idler Do you know what a paywall is? Its when you are blocked from accessing content until you have paid. That's exactly that. If you have been reading 12 chapters a week, now you will get to read 5 chapters and the rest you would need to keep paying to read.

Positive_Lullaby This is the entire basis of the quidan vs wuxiaworld conflict and why believe wuxiaworld should win. Quidan is ok an all but there translation work is no where near wuxiaworld's level. I would prefer wuxiaworld to win because they have been translating works for the western world a lot longer than quidan has. Hell I've been reading on wuxiaworld for 10 years I hadn't even heard of quidan until 3 months ago. It is the difference in reputation wuxiaworld has the higher and better reputation while quidan is the piranha that smelled blood(money) that wuxiaworld was making and they want to steal it and tear them to shreds in the process. I don't mind paying to read this stuff but I want to on my terms not theirs. Welp I got my two sense in, soooo I'm probably going to be banned again since I said something against quidian. So see ya.
Supreme_Idler It doesn't matter that the daily ones cover the cost. It is still a paywall. If you are paid daily for your job and want to buy a coffee, the money you make compensates, but that doesn't mean the coffee is free, you are just earning money. If you want to buy more things (follow more novels) you will end up without money.

Of course production cost is a hole, for any product, i don't know the exact number but i guess what you pay per chapter doesn't fill a full time job reward, so for making more, translator need to pump chapter as quickly as possible despise the quality and hope on patreon to round their income... And maybe there is bonus income from ranking system...

In the same time you put premium program to round your income... and reduce the cost of production but
don't tell me that Qidian doesn't plan to sell E-Book of the complete translated work... this is where you'll make profits but seems to totally discard that notion and hope for 1:1 ratio budget in product ... Preposterous (I've always dreamed to say that ='}...... but if it work........... GG x)
In fact it's not like i have a problem with the premium itself... but i think everythings lack transparancy we have no way to support the author itself if we like its works. So don't bring Z's in my garden if you don't intend to do somethings about it...
Here a idea :
The already translated chapters could be cut in volumes (if its not already the case) and be sold on the novel main page (and other support see fit) at least it will make profit for the translator (ohhh, obviously not they don't own their work... ok maybe a little bonus ? be nice =} ), the author and the editor (who'll get the lion's share ? I bet on the latter !) and give a handfull of spirit stones to the buyer (let's dream xD)...
All in all, you have opportunity to get more profits than physiqual market who only earn at end product thank to the net explosion... Let's be a bit honest if i had to paid for reading (mostly like most fellow readers, i'll probably never read 95% of the novel here but since it's free and have spare time... why not ?!
If you can make money on my free read then be my guest i don't mind but don't ask me to support all novels for a handfull that i really like...

Ekdahl Your exactly right. I don't necessarily mind paying to read the webnovels on here, but I only want to pay for the novels I read. I only read two novels on the site(used to be three, one is in permanent hiatus for now) and one of them is premium. I don't really care for the rest of the novels, so I don't mind paying to read the one I want, but all the others that I don't like why should I have to pay to read them. Also I think it would be cool if they divided Release that Witch into volumes that are english translated that you can buy, you would be able to create your own collections, for the rest of them don't care so much
I believe the problems lies in the implementation. The novels shouldn’t have been tagged as Premium but Novels with Premium Chapters instead. This means not changing the regular release schedule of a particular novel, but adding Premium chapters on top of the regular updates. This way, free readers won’t feel the effect and Premium readers get their dose of 10 or so Premium Chapters.
What happened was a drastic change in the release schedule. Let’s take Immortal Mortal (IM) as an example. The regular releases were 3 updates a day. Once the change was implemented, it became one regular chapter a day. Of course, the free readers would complain (me included).
Btw, what I meant as regular release, were the ad supported releases prior to the change.
