Fellow daoists what changes did you experience after reading webnovels.

Hmm... I suppose I began to use non-Chinese-specific phrases from Chinese webnovels such as 'spits out blood'. I also learned to paragraph better (imo) whenever I write stories.
Gratefully, I have not picked up anything from these novels aside from having a keener eye of spotting filler material. Most of the phrases don't stick, Most of the vocabulary isn't new....and most of the metaphors cannot be used in my actual life. I can read novels faster now because I can skip filler info, without losing the story.
The only thing I actually use is the phrase "warm my bed"...... As for things I learned...... I learned that I want to reincarnate or transmigrate with a godly cheat and be immortal.
Neverfire7 I legit forget that no one I know understands that phrase and when I accidentally say it out loud I feel like I'm gonna cough blood lol.
AprilFlower My friends just politely ignore me, especially after I told them what it meant and where I got the phrase from :')
Grand_Void_Daoist I now know how to skim read.
I can not stop frowning whenever I find something wrong
I did not change my speech patterns, at least not that I have noticed.. I always read a lot, so that may explain it. Mostly I find it difficult to explain to other people what I am reading. Like it’s not a book and also not a known genre and the only thing that you can really say is that you are always waiting for updates..
But for all that it matters, I learned a lot of new metaphors and expressions, I just do not use English in my daily life so that may also be a reason that I did not experience a change in my way of speaking. Sorry for the long text, I hope it was an appropriate answer:)
My dreams have become exceptional amazing, I also found that reading a good chapter before sleep gives you good dreams.
Over time I forgot which expressions were Chinese in origin and sometimes I say them to my friends then I have to explain the meaning behind. I got a hold of it though.
I binge read on lnmtl once and my appreciation for grammar passed through flames and was reborn like a phoenix from the ashes.
I try to balance sometimes when i find myself too immersed in Chinese culture by reading the Classics. Eg I just finished Jane Eyre. (Ik it's weird, shuddup)
