You see, I'm tired of hearing the mantras of people like you (people who use said mantras) and then claiming to be unfairly judged to be naive/misinformed/lacking in knowledge. If you were to hear some kid (just making an example, not implying you are a kid. I personally believe you are someone in late teens but before reaching the adulthood) arguing that there are no numbers lesser than 0 or even that 2+2=5, you will call them silly. But if you see someone on the internet doing the same, then you will be at first flabbergasted, and then angered when they start calling you names while hatefully trying to push their point while not using commonly accepted ways to do so.
My attitude towards you changed when I saw you using those mantras and misconceptions. Why can I speak out about ads? Because I used to manage some sites that earned from them. Why can I speak about ads on youtube? Because there is a great amount of people that explained this topic thoroughly. But what are you offering in your "arguments?"
So far, you are doing one of the four things and compose all your replies with mix of those.
1) Belittling me personally and thus proving that arguments (not sure about the word here, points I'm bringing?) can't be true because such a person like me brought them.
2) Using myths and half-truths. (like, tv is free, other sites are free)
3) Dissing the whole idea of paying for something that used to be illegally stolen and free, then turned to legal and free and after all this time, the rightful owner has the balls to demand some remuneration for their rights/license/hard work.
4) Coming up with something I never said, shoving it down my throat and using it to prove me wrong.
Looking at your post above, let me list out how its constructed.

Look up ignorantio elenchi and ad homiem then look back at your post. You are making classic discussion mistakes that prove that you are using your emotions to argue, not fact.
This aproach to the discussion is way below my bottom line. If you want to recieve any response from me, then please, try to eradicate this kind of arguments from your post, describe in detail the logic behind your reasoning, bring references to the sources and authoritets you can rely upon. Then and only then you will be qualified recieve my response. I simply learned that there is so much better things to do than arguing with people like you in a hard way.

My takeaway from reading this wild ride of a thread, is that some free readers don't really care or understand how authors make a living from wasting precious time to write on Webnovel, as long as they're entertained.
Some free readers understand this but cannot - due to circumstances - support authors, so they try to do so in other ways (power stones, reviews, comments etc) which is actually fine for most authors because we love to see it. This group is disappointed that they'll be unable to read more, but are still willing to soldier on.
The paid readers are just reading this with utmost amusement.
And us Authors are conflicted. On one hand, we sympathize because we understand. On the other, this is (ideally) in our best interest.
I do believe this could've been implemented a bit better, but that is why Webnovel created a forum. You guys can share your suggestions and opinions so that they could make the system a lot more effective for both sides.

WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL please make it so that we can AT LEAST earn coins through daily activities. Right now the ONLY way to earn coins is by inviting a friend. I would rather have coins than the passes.
if you had at least something like 2ss per video people would watch you can have a limit ie 2 video per day per person and that way you make money from advertisement and people will get some ss for free. So that they can have more option to read books. Your giving away ss for you and would be making money like you are now doing with farming

The amount of revenue brought by the ads is not nearly enough to pay down the costs of maintaining the site, paying the wages of the official employes nor the fair share for the authors.
I'm not giving exact numbers, CKTalon did it multiple times, but one add amounted to like 0.3ss of worth.

No, the past system of free ss was too generous and was changed to the current one. But we don't know what future might bring so just stay tuned and watch for the news from webnovel. We, the authors, are just as clueless about the future as everyone else.

Bonus coins do expire 30 days after acquiring them, the ones you get from pucharse do so in 90 days I recall, but head to Yueyi posts for confirmation. Coins directly bought with money never expire. I guess the coints that expired were the bonus one you obtained about a month ago.
Lower price for the coins as long as you log in daily to get the daily rewards.

the upgrade is so buggy. In ss i can open many chapters in a day. In fast pass i only get a few so my reading time reduces. Its really annoying plus the bonus videos doesnt load most of the time. I guess thats one of the bugs. I dont like it

Ah, as you might see from my recent posts, I managed to calm myself down. I'm not going to put up with their obnoxious attitude.
As for the problem at hand, I'm a free reader as well. Never bought a single coin, even though I can afford it. Do you know what I'm doing? I'm enjoying all the reading I can with free passess. Maybe if I will have enough free time on hand to read something else outside those few novels that I follow, I might consider buying. Thats how real life works.
As an author, I simply preffered to spedn 100$ on mechanical keyboard that will enable me to write even more with less pain, as speedwriting for 8 hours straight can get your hands quite a bit.

You should ask some better versed in this, but I myself I'm sure that all the spirit stones that I got as a free user were expiring. It's just that I was using them faster than they could expire.
But as I said, it's better ask someone else on this point. I can only say from the limited perspective of someone who was here for like two years in total. (If you can check exactly when did RtW migrate here, you can get the exact date when I joined)
