I need help! I've printed a lot of copies, submitted them and still get verification failed. They're saying the signature must be hand written and use black pen.

I'm doing everything that they've been asking but it still fails to get verified. Any one know of the problem?

    Arba

Well you created signatures from 'create initials' option in Adobe fill and sign, right? That shouldn't cause any problem.

Aysel_Inara in fact, they won't accept Adobe Sign signatures anymore, as they say cause problems with bank etc. It's really weird, but what's what they say.
It means you really need to print, sign (though in the sample they sent me it was signed with a blue pen, not black), scan and upload.
It's really a hindrance, find time to go to a printshop and print 20 pages of a contract, scan and send, in the case you don't have a multitask printer at your disposal.
Meaning, only when I have free time to find a printshop open (since I'm a full time working adult), is when I'm going to sign the contract for my second novel.
Or maybe I never will sign this one.
Funny thing is that my first contract was accepted with a digital signature, in fact, even suggested I could digitally sign it.
Everything I sign is with a digital signature nowadays, using Adobe Sign, and some say my country is the one "in development" haha.
If Arba is getting trouble with his scans, perhaps the editor mentioned in the contract can help him.

I'm currently in the process of contracting my book, Trash in the Apocalypse. I tried signing on the side, below; I even used different kind of pens (bought new ones) since they said that I have to sign with HANDWRITTEN sign and not a digital one. Its been almost a week since I'm cycling through this process. Signature Verification Failed.

You mean I can ask for help with my SUPPOSED editor?

Arba Yes, you will see the name of the editor in the contract. If you don't have him/her Discord or email, follow the instructions in the last page and email the contract team.

          • Arba replied to this.

Arba I don't, but perhaps someone in the Inkstone server does.

Arba Go to the INKSTONE Discord and open the #announcements Channel. You will find Sunny's Discord there. DM her from there. Or you can also try contacting someone from the Staff. The members of Staff are CKtalon, MTL, SUNNY, and Millman. Or you can go to the WEBNOVEL Discord and check if someone is online there.

SrtaA You're kidding right? What the heck? Why do you have to print the pages and scan all of them? Can't you just print the page where you have to sign? And looking at @Arba there are chances it'll fail and you might even have to reprint it again for a new page. Heck, I might as well get white-out. It just seems like a unnecessary strain and long process. Really weird. Color for Printers aren't cheap either.

Arba Dang how much $ did you waste on paper and pens? Lol.

When hand-signing contracts, the general business practice is to place some marks, usually hand-written initials of the signing parties at bottom corners, on each and every page, except the one where you do the signing, in order to authenticate what's on the sheet.
              This is done to prevent
              1) one party later swapping a page with new words and then claiming the other party has agreed to it, or
              2) one party falsely accusing the other of doing 1)

Nullabutton if this is true they should have add this to the instructions. I've wasted money on printing papers thinking I was doing something wrong, so...

HolyDragon17 a LOT. I have more than 60 pages here. I was stuck on my name at first! They said my name was WRONG. Had to figure out that they need all CAPS. That process took 3/4 of the sack of sheets that I probably won't even read. I also bought every brand of black pen on the local store to use on every different contract. Just to fail in verification.

Fortunately, this time, it took longer for them to respond and I'm hoping that they finally accepted it.

Arba this is a system bug, the message is wrong and does not match the error. I had this same problem

SrtaA Your name has to be in all caps? Why?

Arba Dang 60 pages to print and scan... I hope your endeavor worked this time or that'd effort gone to waste. I'm quite worried as well as I wonder if my printer scan is within their 'acceptable' range if they're that picky about it.. sigh

Kalenca If you have discord, discuss about the things with the editor mentioned in the contract. Things will be easier in that way
