don_offl sorry, I haven't read anything, but can you explain why the currency system is a poor fit? What would you be trying to fix by applying a new system? Is there anything you do like about your current system?

KoraL the biggest purchase made in my novel was 2500 gold coins and it was in the poorest part of the map but now im started to integrate the richer areas and now im feeling it'll be better if i change the currency into full magic coins or stone system. i dont want to use the low mid high because im already using low mid high for differentiating the magic levels so im trying to find different system and want the new system completely seperate from the gold silver copper coins
(i.e i want the ga between gold and the higher level currency to be huge not just 100)

p.s my english is bad i hope you'll understand what im trying to say

      don_offl

don_offl tou should change the gold to sprit stones convention rate . Not even 10000 gold can buy 1 sprit stones .

As asurawrath suggests, alot of cultivation stories go with:

Copper - Silver - Gold (coins, bars, taels) are all mortal level currency.

Low, mid, high spirit stones are cultivation currency that simply have no exchange rate with mortal money.

At the highest level currency is completely done away with since cultivators need those high grade stones to advance with so exchanges become a barter system of items or favors.

Simple, just add Concentrated High Tier Magic Stone which is equivalent to 5000 High Tier MS. And add Pinnacle Tier Magic Stone which is equivalent to 10,000 Concentrated High Tier Magic Stone.

If your MC goes to even higher places, change the currency to electronic. Make the currency be fully reliant on cards, like the cards in our world. Just change the name a little bit.

And yeah, I'm fully ripping off the currency system of LOHP

Don' use the typical gold, copper, silver...
            Maybe something like.

            Bronze Coin,
            Gold Pound,
            Platinum notes,
            Blue crystals..

            Idk..

SamStrike_ Dirt Coin, Lowly Copper, Desirable Silver, and Magnificent Gold. Earthly Platinum, Heavenly Diamond, Unatainable Amethyst, and Divine Stone!

              I think I did well.

don_offl I would introduce banks in the richer areas that issue notes or bills that you can differentiate with color representing different denominations of gold. Then at even higher stages switch to the magic stone trade only. You can describe quality of magic stones with other words such as: clear, cloudy, solid, and pure. You can change the size of your currencies. People can transact in coins, bars, shards, pebbles, stones, boulders, etc. You can keep your terminology if the stones directly correlate with the type of magic they can be used for.

RABBITICOL no, no. Dirt coin was great, but you still fell back on copper, silver, gold.

                  Dirt Patty,
                  Wood effigy,
                  Tin bar,
                  Lead cake,
                  Titanium leaf,
                  Uranium flake,
                  Technetium atom,
                  Small singularity
                  Antimatter planet

                  Oops, wrong genre

you could try something along the lines 1cop or Cuprum(copper in latin) instead of copper and Sils instead of silvers or Argentum (which is silver in Latin ) and Aur ( aurum Latin for gold) you could also find out what they are called in different languages and mix the names up so it becomes a different word like Oro is gold in Spanish and Gold is English and Aurum is Latin so you could take the Or from oro and Go from gold and rum from Aurum and make ORGORUM and make it the highest mortal coin just my opinion.

I think the real problem is you have to believe yourself when you're writing or people are going to tell.

If you are going to do 100 bronze equals one silver and one hundred silver equals 1 gold... Then it better sound pretty good when you describe it... I've seen books use ridiculous currency systems but they write and know how to make it sound amazing...

Her_Shadow I've decided to keep the copper silver gold coins separate from the magic stones and also write unique currency to particular kingdoms like yen in jap Doller in usa.

secondly, i picked up some cool names for coins in this thread so I going to replace typical gold silver copper with those names and ive already put some hints about magic cards that can use to make transactions so ill add the banks in richer kingdoms
