Interesting. I got a fast pass from daily checkin on the app today (about 2 hours ago). That leads me to suspect it is a bug rather than intentional.

Then, I'm the only lucky guy here? still received the same reward, 3 fastpasses for check-in and votes, on the App 
Cantiara If I am not wrong, then it is not related to the App version (since the App didn't receive an update in the App Store), but the back-end. I reckon the back-end was updated but the update wasn't rolled out to all the regions (servers), hence why people are getting different rewards. It should be consistent soon, and the new rewards listed on the reward page will become the new norm.

How do you know it's just an API update? Was there an announcement somewhere?
Anyway, an app rollout can also be done in stages. It is called staged rollout. And if the devs decided to do a staged rollout of the app, it means that only a percentage of their users would see the changes first. Which is a wise thing to do because they may wanna make sure that the functionalities are working correctly before they roll them out completely to all users.
In addition to that, when exactly an app update will be released to the targeted users depends greatly on Google's or Apple's approval. App developers don't really have a say in this. They can submit their update, but Google and Apple still have to review and approve it.
Also if a user has an auto-update on, then the app will just be updated without them knowing.
Just wanted to make sure, hence I asked for his/her app version.

On the app, it seems that they are implementing a new free reading program, in which novels will be unlocked for free as long as you wait enough. :grin: So this explains why they take away some of the free fast passes. Hope you all stay patient for the new updates Webnovel are rolling out.

CrispyCritter i did as mentioned to login via web and yes git my daily check in pass instead of exp if via app.
But would the free be a permanent thing or a limited thing where they will lock back the chapters, that's the issue. 
Also I don't see how this update would be (can't find the word for it xD) when using FP is a better option at this current stage. 
(Not pressing you for answers, just more of a statement, sorry if it came off that way.)

It is still version 4.3.7 but they rolled out all the new features that the app pulls from the back-end, like the new Reward system, and the new Unlock system that Yaoyueyi posted above. I am still on 4.3.7, but I already have all these changes, hence why I said it seems to not yet be rolled out to all regions (servers) if people are getting different kinds of rewards. But yeah, the App should be receiving a major update soon since there was that Survey, and CK mentioned the next version will allow account unregistrations. And now there are these changes, too.

yaoyueyi it seems 1 every four hour is the limit, but if they allow 1 unlock every four hour (will need to confirm), people will be able to unlock up to 6 chapters every day, so that's a plus for them. And this new system is not available on all books yet.
The rewards in the App are now back to the previous 3 Fast Passes, for me, at least.
