It’s not letting me join it, it’s my first time submitting a story and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
It says “Sorry, your novel does not match the writing contest, please check detail.”
How do I join the spring contest?
Bliinx You did not share any screenshoot. We can't help you like that. Most likely, you picked the wrong genre (just a random guess).
Oh, and you can join only when creating a novel, you can apply with already existing one.
MotivatedSloth I can see the screenshot on my end, but it just says what I added above. It’s a new book, I had just published it and was trying to add it to the contest.
I did try with different genres. I don’t know if posting it on my phone made a difference, I’ll try again on desktop, but I think I’ll have to resubmit as a new book.
Bliinx I see it now, has to be some bug on my end.
From what I see, you are trying to set the contest status for your exisiting novel (might be wrong about that)
You can only pick a contest WHILE creating a new novel. Worst case scenario, you can just reupload the chapters, but thats kinda scummy move IMHO.

MotivatedSloth I will have to check how to add it to a new novel, I thought that’s what I was doing since I wrote the story for the contest.
I’ve never written something on this platform so I’m not too familiar with its format.
Edit: I see my mistake, I published the story and then tried to enter the contest.
I see the option to enter the contest on the first page of the create tab now.
No I'm having the same problem too. I never published any chapters and it won't let me join so I made the tags instead. I asked about it with the chat people but I was just told to try again. I did with a blank slate but still nothing.

RABBITICOL both app and PC. I didn't even see an option on the PC.
Scarlettbunny Try to use a different browser. You need to first choose the Genre that matches one of the themes, only then will that Contest option appear.

Scarlettbunny I was able to understand afterwards, you join the contest where you input the title, gender, and genre. This is before you add the story and submit it.

Bliinx Yes. I was planning to start a new novel anyways but I didn't finalize anything. So when I went back to the PC I had to do a new novel all together and then it popped up. It didn't on the app.
RABBITICOL Thank you. I have done it now and scrapped the old one? In a weird way but seriously thank you I was pretty lost.
It's better to do it on the website version of Inkstone. I tested it not long ago and it works.
