Basically for that day your novel will appear in the stated section of the explore tab. Just means that users will easily be able to find your book as soon as they open that section as a recommended read.

You need prepare nothing, though it is advised that if you are unhappy with your current cover art and synopsis then now might be the time to switch them out, being eye catching and easy to understand from a small blurb never hurts but it's not required.

As for how big an effect it is, depends on your book. The big thing I took away from my own time recommended and seeing Regnov show his own recommendation is that like him, shortly after this advertisement I was offered a contract with webnovel, so your book could be looking at being extended an offer in the near future.

Keep in mind this last bit is just a guess and not a guarantee though, so refreshing yourself on what you want the future to be is also something to think about in case this series of events does play out like I surmise but don't take it as set in stone.

Darth_Xiane A contract would be cool. But you only earn money with every chapter after 200k words or?
So I would have to release 115 - 120 chapters before I earn a single Dollar?!? Is that right or how exactly is it?

      SuperSilentSin

Well for myself I got offered a contract around I think chapters 60 or 70 of my book, each chapter is on average 2k words. The contract itself requests that you maintain a minimum word count per chapter of 1.5k.

As for how much you can earn, better to hop on the discord and ask contracted authors how much they wrote before seeing an income (won't say profit as generally 1 coin equates to I think 2 cents). While I was offered a contract I didn't take it, so I can't comment on the value.

I got recommended for the same time! Woehoe, we're aspiring author brother. Although I have about 24k words, so maybe you're doing a little better to be recommended earlier 😂

Regnov No, what I mean is that you can get contracted earlier of course but only every word after 200k words is payed. The earlier chapters are mostly free aren't they?

Sander_Oniisan I don't know how good I am doing in contrast to other people. I felt more like it was because I released everyday for around a week a chapter with an average of more than 1700 words... I got this recommended message shortly after I released my eleventh chapter...
If you want to compare... I have 98 collections right now.. but I got 6 new last hour. I don't know why but my collections didn't increase to 104 after that so maybe someone pushed again and again add to library... I don't know how that function works XD
6.5.2020 at this time of the day I had still 67 collections... So that should indicate how fast I grow... I can't really tell if it is fast or slow though. I am missing material to compare to.

Darth_Xiane Can I ask why you didn't want it? As far as I know they don't force you to release every day a chapter so it seems to be an easy way to earn some money even if you have already a job...

I don't know who told you about the 200k words, but as far as I know, it's not true.

You choose when you want to go premium, then you earn from your premium chapters. You earn 2 cents per every 200 words, so a 1,600-word chapter would get you 16 cents. Minimum guaranteed sum assures that you earn $200 monthly for the first 4 months as long as you publish 1,500 words daily. You must upload a chapter everyday - it is not by word count, so don't upload 45,000 words and call it a day - make sure you schedule a chapter everyday and you'll get $200.

Your content editor will advise you when to go premium, but most people will start around Chapter 50+. Some choose to start around Chapter 100+. It's entirely up to you.

Tomoyuki okay thx for the answer. chapter 50 - 70 sounds much more reasonable. So you get an editor when you are contracted? Is that free or gets he part of your 2 cent? Would be really cool to have one because I am not native...

SuperSilentSin The editor will contact you when they offer you a contract. You only get 50% of the revenue, so I assume the other 50% goes into paying your editor, administrative stuff, advertising and other costs.

                      Regnov No comment.

Regnov You can search his name in the toolbar. His book seems to be called Summoner Sovereign and has 215 free chapters. From then on it is premium so I guess it is save to say that he is contracted.

Tomoyuki So in real you only get 1 cent per 200 words?
In connection to that.. Can the average author earn 2000 Dollar a month with 3000 words per day? I know it depends of the author and the novel but that is why I ask for the average... I am curious because I asked myself if you even need the minimum guarantee system...

SuperSilentSin I just now calculated what you need for 3000 Dollar..
You need to release for 30 days, 3200 words per day and you need 625 people paying for your chapters... If that 1 cent thing is correct that should be it. Of course only an example. The question here would be how to get 625 paying readers... It is basically as if ever person pays you 4.80 dollars every month. That is not that high but it isn't low as well...

SuperSilentSin You earn about 1 cent per 200 words, yes. But you will never earn $2,000 a month even if you write 3,000 words. The hell would you even get that? You only get $200 a month if you write 1,500 words a day, how did you jump to 10 times that amount!?

If you don't bother with minimum guaranteed sum, then unless you have thousands of readers willing to pay for your chapters, sadly, you'll only earn a few cents to less than $10 a month. That is the sad reality. You are not as popular as you think you are, and you definitely will not make more than a hundred dollars, never mind $2,000.

Let's do the calculations for 3,000 words daily for a chapter. That earns you about 30 cents a chapter. In a month that's about $9. 50% is about $4.50. So unless you have 500 readers willing to pay for your chapters (which, let's face it, is extremely unlikely - most people probably only have 1-2 paying readers, maybe up to 10 if you're lucky or really popular), you will never go beyond $2,000.
