I am a plain man : so I would choose a Dao (saber) or butterfly swords

    I would much perfer a MC who uses a pair of chain gloves and tames beasts and once a tamed beast becomes loyal they can be stored in the gloves while also strengthening and adding special attributes to the gloves

      If I had the choice my prefered weapon would be Chakrams ... Chinese chewing gum sword are really not my favorite.

But while still at a level where sword attacks and defenses mattered, I'd go against the flow and use a western basket hilt saber—a left handed basket hilt saber. The 1860 Calvary Saber that Cold Steel sells is a good example—if it were only two or three inches longer...
